I plan to start master cleanse tomorrow
hello all! I've taken cleansing classes before and have fallen off the raw wagon. In fact, I fell off, got run over, and have been dragged :)
I am going to try to start the master cleanse tomorrow for at least the minimum 10 days. I've never done exactly this before but am looking forward to it. I thought it might be a nice kick start to the summer and a good way to get back to the raw lifestyle -- I'd like to be at least 75% raw.
Does anyone have any suggestions for those tough first three days or so when breaking the addictions are the hardest? Is there anything I should be aware of/watch for?

well, for one if your new to fasting, the first 2-3 days are the hardest! Just keep your eyes on the prize (how cleansed you will be,how youll feel!)
also when I get a bad craving for food I like to pamper myself, you could either go to a salon or my personal favorite watching a TON OF MOVIES on the couch
also maybe you could supplement with a high quality organic vitamin? and trade in the maple syrup for agave nectar (or n.v. honey)?
since maple syrup is HIGHLY processed

Good luck!
Hello Haz!
I just concluded the Master Cleanse program this morning after being on it for 14 solid days. It was a wonderful experience. In case you are wondering as to why I ended my cleanse today, my tongue turned pink. Woohoo!
Second day was my difficult day, but I managed to stay preoccupied with my job and daily work-out. After that critical day, I didn't even think about food at all.
Of course, it helps a lot not to have coffee addiction to begin with which is a very common problem with many people who drink coffee daily. Coffee drinking is not allowed on the Master Cleanse program. I never have one drop of coffee in my entire fifty years of life -- a big plus for me! In any rate, you might experience caffeine withdrawal if you are a coffee drinker.
My suggestion is to stay busy with whatever you do as part of your everyday life and it will be nothing, but smooth sailing. You can also visit http://www.therawfoodsite.com/ for moral support, inquiry and/or feedback.
Cheers,
Wayne

No subsitution, please!
Hey Haz!
If you intend to use the Master Cleanse as your cleansing program, please follow specific instructions as written in Stanley Burrough's book. Please do NOT try to subsitute any of the ingredients (i.e. maple syrup - grade B, lemon, cayenne pepper, uniodized sea salt, laxative tea and bottled water) for something else. Just stick with the Master Cleanse regimen and your body will thank you BIG time after you are done with the cleansing program.
Again, good luck!

Thanks for the great info and support! Naturally, I woke up with what appears to be the beginning of a lovely sinus infection this morning. Nonetheless, I'm still going to do the cleanse. In fact, I think I'm even more motivated now:)

Hi Ani!
Sorry I haven't posted -- I just noticed your email today.
I made it to roughly day four and then had to cave in and have some broth -- I just felt too weak. I am, however, currently on day 23 of what turned from a master cleanse into a juice/broth fast.
As promised, I wasn't hungry after day 2. Honestly. I mean, I CRAVED things, but if I listened to my body, I truly wasn't hungry.
Don't stress and put too much pressure on yourself. If you can't stick with the full fledged master cleanse, it's not a matter of will power or anything, it's just that your body may not be ready for such a monster cleanse. That was why I transitioned into a juice fast and I felt great -- other than fatigue and some lightheadedness, I still do.
Best of luck!!!!!!! Take time for yourself and be kind to yourself -- listen to what your body needs and wants, that's my best advice :)
