Marigold, I am not understanding your question. Could you ask it in another way please? :) Thanks!

For health reasons, more energy, to lose weight. What amazes me is most folks know they don't eat enough raw food or they realize it is healthier to eat that way but we have been programmed for so long to eat cooked food they just do what everyone else does or how they have been taught.

I tell people that it's for health reasons...to break the cycle of "hereditary" diseases in my family (diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer to name a few).

    Default Why Eat Raw?

    Hi guys,

I am just halfway through watching Alissa's new DVD and on it she stresses how she tells people all the wonderful things about eating raw, all the benefits and all the foods she CAN eat and doesn't focus at all on what she can't have anymore. This makes perfect sense to me.

I do it for health reasons too. I have high blood pressure and my mom has cancer. I DO NOT want to grow old with a bunch of chronic diseases as I see so many of my patients doing. It's depressing to see how many medications they are taking yet never getting any better. I want to do whatever I can to ensure good health and a long life.

I'm with you Edda, I have never been able to believe diseases are caused by old age. Most uncivilized countries don't have the health problems we do until they adapt our way of eating.

    Hi Curtis,

Here is some very interesting reading in regards to the "germ theory" and disease. Also, Here is a quote from the webpage- "The germ theory came from Louis Pasteur, a chemist, who has been found to be a fraud, and plagarist of Prof Antoine Beachamp (erased from the history books) a genius contemporary of his who discovered the true theory of disease."

    Yes, much! Thanks!

I eat Raw OrganicVegan for my health, for the environment, for the animals! Because it is the most efficient way to get the maximum amount of living nutrients and enzymes from the food I take in, and in the most healthful way!
I do so because it really makes me feel better and I have tried every "diet" there is and this one is the most healthful, intelligent and vibrant one for me! :) This usually opens up a dialogue and, since every moment is a "Teachable" moment, I can choose, based on their response how much more to share with them, what they are open or ready to hear and so on. Usually I refer them to a book or a website for more info or invite them to see me for a Nutritional Consult or Holistic Lifestyle Guidance Session. :)

I just tell people that cooking foods destroys or alters a large percentage of the life-giving properties of the food. Then I refer them to research material that backs it up.

Good answer, Kirk! That's pretty much what I say, and point them to literature as well...It is helpful to point specifics for some, like that 50% of usable protein is destroyed by cooking, to those who have the "protein" questions/concerns...I like to explain enzymes in breif and how they are needed for every function, how we all are born with a certain amount of stored enzymes and that if we eat food that has no useable enzymes, it depletes our stores and how living/Raw foods have enzymes of their own so are not "taxing" our storage of precious enzymes... :)

This is what i say " what if i told you you could eat banana cream pie for breakfast, pizza for lunch, enchiladas for dinner and all the desserts you wanted in between? And what if i told you that you wouldnÂ’t have to count fat, protein or carbs, could lose amazing amounts of weight and heal your body from disease. That you would look younger, have more energy and be happier then you ever imagined. Would you be interested in what i do? Oh, and by the way, its really easy and fun!"
I have NEVER had anyone say no.

ItÂ’s all in the way you present it marigold. Everyone wants to feel and look good.

Everyone wants an experience. What experience are you offering them when you tell them about raw food? One of struggle and what they canÂ’t have and one of deprivation? (DoesnÂ’t sound fun or appealing to me!) Or are you offering them this incredible opportunity to change their lives in a way they never thought possible before by just changing their diet. A diet by the way that allows them to eat with freedom, when they want and the delicious foods they will crave and love.

My closing line? Why wouldnÂ’t you do this?
