Try to get to 100% raw as soon as possible. Trying to keep one foot in cooked and the other in raw just aggravates cravings and greatly increases the chance of failure. Don't worry if you slip just pick yourself up and learn whatever you can from the experience and get into gear again. An all raw diet kicks it into high gear and puts the pedal to the metal for full speed benefits of better health and weight control.

Welcome! I am 22 and just now diving back in 100% myself, but when eating all raw before felt so much better on all levels. So my advice would be to commit to raw and stick it out. Once you start feeling the benefits you'll never want to stray too far. Also, if you do happen to eat something cooked, don't beat yourself up about it and throw in the towel. Just go right back to raw and it's no harm done.

Enjoy the forum and make sure to ask any questions you have. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful.

Everyone has already given such great advice. If I were to add one more it would be try to find a raw substitute for your cooked cravings. There are so many OUTSTANDING recipies on this site and SO much amazing advice ~ try the eggless eggsalad, onion bread and refried bean recipies - they are staples in our house right now. Welcome!

I second Justinesmith's sentiments; find a delcious raw version of your fave cooked dish, it will really help with the transition. Also, try to have a lot of prepared raw food around along with fresh fruit and veggies, so you dont feel the urge to just snack on something processed. I'm on my first raw week, and it has really helped having things ready to eat(I'm a raw chip, salsa, dip, sorbet, etc fiend!)

Good luck on your journey, I'm super new to this too.
