    Default Vitamix vs. Juicer

I own a Vitamix and use it daily. What would the advantage be to also purchasing a juicer? Isn't the use of a Vitamix healthier?

    Thanks-

Juice makes a very nice change from the thicker drinks and smoothies that you can do in the Vitamix. Also, if you get a suitable juicer, you could make your own wheatgrass juice if you want to --that's something you can't make in a vitamix.

I bought these pieces of equipment in the opposite order from you -- I already had a juicer when I bought my vitamix. I love them both but I use the vitamix every day, often several times, whereas I might use the juicer once or twice a week. If I could only have one, it would definitely be the vitamix.

A Vita-Mix lets you keep in the fibre, whereas a juicer will take much of the fibre out. We have a juicer, and it just makes... well, juice. You can't do smoothies in it.

I agree with lily... if you only have one, make it a blender of some sort. You get the added benefits of fibre and thickness than you can't get from a juicer (but if you're really into juice, you might want to have both).

I have a vitamix, a champion juicer, and a green power juicer. Each has something that it really does well that the others don't. Of the three I like my vitamix the best especially for a cantaloupe smoothie with ice. But when I want carrot juice I use the champion or when I want celery juice I use my green power -- you see what I mean ?

I use my Vitamix every day for green smoothies. Today I used my Champion to make my daughter this wonderful cranberry, grape, raspberry juice. Just for fun.....
I'd rather juice my grass!
