It's not raw, but I used to love them. I read the ingredients lately and it seems like they began putting some fillers in there. I'd have to look again but for that reason I stopped buying them. I buy the ones by Trace Minerals I think is the name of the brand/co. I have found since beginning this raw journey that I don't need them as much unless I need a gentle bm mover (take it with a meal) or if I need a pick me up while at the gym.

I know a naturopath that swears by vitc and he had the proof to back it up by way of some articles. I was taking 12000 mg at one time of powder and would feel energy surges. Vit c is GREAT and it would seem that even the artifically made stuff is good too!

Now what vit or minerals it takes away from over the long haul if you take too much.....no clue. Hope I didn't confuse you more!

They have had some naysayers but I cannot remember the reason why. Ascobic acid I was recently told - is not a good form of vitamin C for humans and will make us acidic. Don't know where to verify that either. I was told to buy an expensive powdered form of vitamin C which I did. But now I look at the label and it says ascorbic acid like the others. Can't remember what it is supposed to say.

    Hi Kitty Mommy

This is a little off topic but, I wanted to give you a pat on the back for your kitty rescuing (I read your proflie when I saw your kitty picture).

I have been thinking of volunteering locally with some of our resue programs.

Back on topic--I have taken emergen-C forever and I have always liked it. I have a feeling it is not raw though.

Thumbs down. I took it on a regular basis and found the energy surges to be very artificial. It's just so .....fake! Chemical vitamins out of whack with nature. Nah, I'll take a pass and go juice some vegetables in my Champion for a much better quality improvement in my well-being. Years ago I read an article that those high doses of synthetic Vitamin C can affect DNA. I've also read that we can only absorb 10% of artificial vitamin C. It's vitamins without enzymes to tell them how to do their job, since enzymes are responsible for every single chemical action in the body. The vitamins are also not balanced by minerals or fiber that would be found in whole foods. After working at a health food store and spending a lot of money on supplements, I'm happy to say that I don't pop any pills and I honestly feel better.
*disclaimer: I did take 'em for several years. And I'm supportive of them if they work for someone else! :) I always secretly hoped the B vitamins would make me smarter, but the only thing that accomplishes that feat is eating 100% Raw!
