Only a test
Hi Everyone,
Thanks to Alissa for inviting me.
It's my first post on this site. I just wanted to test it out.
This site is way cool. Love the graphics.

what's a seedling?
Dudes,
I'm a cool post guy. Why the seedling moniker? I'm a 39 year old man with kids.
Peace and a bit of humor my friends,
M.B.

I was waiting for someone to ask that ;) .I just changed the monikers to seedling, sprout, and root. When you start your a seedling, after 30 post you become a sprout, and after 100 (actually that sounds like a lot) your a Root.
Root sounds old and wise to me, so keep posting - you'll get your dignity back soon, HA! hmmmm, does that technically make sense, does a sprout become a root? ya, I think It does...
The junior member, senior member , bla bla bla, just sounded way too uptight for me!
Great to have you here!
Best,
Alissa

Hi MB--I'm glad to see you here. I enjoy your posts on other forums...especialy your wine posts! I've never been a big drinker but I have 1 glass of wine every other weekend...I find I'm really losing the taste for it though. Have you found your taste/desire for wine has changed with being raw?
-
I used to love having a glass of wine every once in a while, but since going raw IÂ’ve given that up.
I thought wine wasnÂ’t good for you?

Hi Everyone,
My palate is more sensitive now that I am raw. I truly feel I'm tasting more of the wine's notes . The "nose" or the smell of the wine is now more accute.
I think this has to do with less mucus in my nasal cavity. Not to gross you out but that's the reason why.
I understand the dangers of wine if abused, but I'm cool with a glass here and there. My collection of wines has stabilized because I don't drink as often. Yes, the raw diet curbs your appetite for liquor.
Peace,
M.B.

Big confession time. I went out of town for the weekend. I've not had a drink since October (2003). I went to my Dad's in Bloomington, IN. (They have an awesome co-op called Bloomin' Foods--clever, I thought.) Well, my 4 sisters and I bought them a case of wine for their anniversary. They wanted me to share one of the bottles with them and said that I should break my wine "fast." How quickly they got me to say yes. I'm not blaming them. It was all me. I was doing great on my eating....no problems. Well the sharing of the bottle became 2, then my sister asked me to the bar where she was meeting friends. I said sure and her friends' bought me drinks. I couldn't stop until last call. I went home and threw up. I guess this confirms that I'm an alcoholic. I'm trying to be too angry with myself. I think mostly I feel bad because I took the alcohol into my system for than the fact that I blew it. No more for me! I don't really understand what made me do it either. That's what I've been pondering on. I still feel bad and this was 2 nights ago.
It's been a frustrating couple of days. The trip was supposed to be relaxing. I feel more stressed out. Hopefully I'll be better once it is out of my system.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Kristi!!!
Well, boy can I relate to coming back from family get togethers feeling more stress than before you left. Family is stressful! I don't care how great a family is, there's just so much baggage and history that infrequent get togethers can absolutely be tough. So, maybe that's part of why you drank? To feel relaxed? Or you were already feeling happy and relaxed and let your guard down. The drinking thing is tough...it's a big deal to a lot of people and if you don't partake you're separating yourself from them. That's my experience anyway. It's really hard to be part of a drinking crowd and not drink.
So listen, you drank too much, you felt like caca. Use it as a good reminder as to why you quit drinking (you've done awesome with that). Write yourself a note about how you felt the next morning, how you felt physically, emotionally, and spirtually---keep it in your wallet as a reminder. Maybe 2 years from now you'll be in a similar situation again, take out the note, read it, then decide if you want to go through it again. Regardless of the decision you make then, you'll have the reminder fresh in your head of the ramifications of the last time you decided to go ahead. Does that make sense? I dunno, just a thought.
You have done such a marvelous job over the last 4 months! You have turned your health around in a major way. Just use this as a reminder of how you used to live and how it just doesn't appeal to you anymore.

I had a great and relaxing time with family. I guess I did let me guard down...pretty sad when I am a martial artist.....you'd think I'd be able to guard against evil things! The stress came from coming home and dealing with the multitude of daily grind type things,....boy needs haircut, girl's glasses broke, gotta work, laundry, register for school, house is a mess, husband didn't do anything while I was gone but withdraw too much cash and leave our account overdrawn.....aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh Calgon take me away! It was hard to deal with the stress because I felt bad from the alcohol and was mad at myself. I'm much better now. Thanks.
