Second raw day - hooray!
Okay.. its just the beginning, but I am very excited. I did the master cleanse for 9 days and I think that really helped to knock out/down cravings and hopefully has changed my palate for good! My husband was a bit discouraged about the extra cost of our being a "poison free household" so, I am hoping we can find a way to balance it out so he does not decide it is not worth it.
I am looking forward to being comfortable in my skin, not obsessed with food or controlled by cravings. I am so thankful yall are here!
And I am in Atlanta area too - Rawdiva!! We might could have a potluck!
Anyway.. I am sure thankful for yall and glad to be here!

Congratulations!!!!
For your husband (and yourself), if you are not doing so, might I suggest keeping a journal of thing you would like to see change in yourself? I've found that, IF I don't write it down, I'll forget and not notice that this or that health challenge has disappeared.
The other thing is, find out how much time one might save NOT going to doctors (most will tell me they have insurance so that isn't an issue ~ or paid "sick" days) yet, to me, IF I had those, I'd rather have "well" days.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, I'm wondering if it IS really more costly to have a "poison free household". I know when I go out, I take food with me which allays the cost of purchasing some fast food junk ~ which rarely is considered when figuring the cost of food. Also, if one looks at it ~ how much does one get out a say, a box of cereal as opposed to making one's own granola or having a green smoothie in the a.m. If I recall, I could go through 3 boxes of cereal a week and that was just for me.
One pan of Alissa's raw lasagne doesn't cost anymore than going to a restaurant and having two plates. AND it seems to last forever!!! :)
When folk figure in the cost of food they purchase at a grocery store when raw, they forget how often they use to eat out and how much that cost.
Just throwing things out there to be considered.
Enjoy and ....
Injoy ~

That's wonderful! I think there have been several threads on budgeting because organic can sometimes be more expensive. You may want to search the site to find more info!!!
Keep up the good work! :)
Expecting first baby in July!!!

Welcome, and much success to you on your raw food journey! Money was an issue with me as well, but, I think the benefits are well worth it in the end!

Thanks yall! I think he is just discouraged because he thinks will cost more than I had been budgeting for groceries. Ultimately it does not cost more (lack of sickness, downtime) but he also has not gone grocery shopping since.. ohh.. 1994. Heh. When we went to Whole Foods and got all poison free stuff (shampoo, toothpaste, blahblah) it was a large chunk of change, and while I tell him it wont be like that always.. we have hit him in his foundational security (putting money into savings!).
I will keep that journal, I believe the changes in me (which will be more evident to the naked eye than his changes, especially since he is not going to be raw) will help to encourage him too.
I am scouring the site for budgeting ideas and good deals and whatnot. I got Alissa's book and will look for recipes that will go a long way! I am thankful for yall's input and help!
Too, we do not go out to eat and he has taken his lunch to work for all of his adult life. I work here from home so I do not spend money on "lunch out" either. Just with fella.. it was not like he had planned, and boy did he have a plan!! He always has a plan!
Peace out and be blessed!
