Default Just starting the raw journey

    Hi Everyone,
I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Sue and I am 50 years old, till this Sunday when i turn 51. ;)
I have been overweight most of my adult life always on a diet of some sort. I would lose some of the weight but I always gained it back and more.
I even tried eating raw a few times, but never for more than a week or two at a time. The old lure of junkfood would always call me back.
Than after having several health problems, asthma, thyroid, high blood pressure, I decided to finally do something about my weight. I had gastric bypass surgery last September and I have lost 99lbs since than. I still have about 30 more lbs to go. I talked with my surgeon and I asked how I should eat now, whether i should be eating lowfat, lowcarb or what. He said just eat healthy foods. So I started eating more fruits and vegetables and less and less meat (it didn't agree with me anymore), untill I find I am eating totally vegetarian. I am now on day 11 and I've been eating 90% raw for 3 days. I had dressings on my salads on those days that wasn't raw.
I plan on starting my 30 day challege. I'm going on vacation this weekend, so I was going to wait till I returned but I think I will start today, just to keep me on track.
This is a very insirational site and I appreciate all the help! :)

    Best Wishes,
    Sue
