Methinks that might change as you get a bit older ~ and wiser.
I'm wondering why you are wishing to do a water fast when you still want to maintain your addictions. Not saying you can't or you shouldn't yet, water-fasting is for cleansing the body. IF you wish to do it so you CAN continue the way you are ~ well then ~ go for it.
Yet, this is a board dedicated to assisting folk in the raw foods lifestyle who wish to become healthier through eating this way. IF you dedicate yourself to doing it (hey! You may just be the leader of your friends!), you will find your desire for smoking/drinking/drugs, etc. diminishes. Now, you have to ask yourself ~ are you ready for this?

YOu're to funny Shinjatti---btw, i sent pm to you also. Do you mean while you are fasting??? I would say smoking A cigaretter while juice fasting is deafeating the purpose of the juice fast. Your body is alread under "stress" to detox and throwing in a cigarette (toxins) can and possibly cause symptoms that may be intolerable or uncomfortable. I wouldn't doubt if your cravings for smoking increased while fasting----the most common detox effect is craving all those things we used to love!
Hang in there. :)

If you are doing the fast too merely lose weight ,than smoke (its NOT healthy though).......If your doing it too HONESTLY feel better and cleanse than DONT SMOKE! I get the whole "young" thing" ,but results are results ......

You can always plan so that you can live long and live comfortably!!! I think it's great that you enjoy the "finer things in life" and that you're career oreinted! If you decide to eat 100% raw you won't have aches and pains and you'll be saving so much money because you won't be buying cigarettes and alchahol that you can be 80 yrs old free of pain and living in a mansion!!! LOL!!! Or, just marry a really rich guy! :) Me personally, I'm looking forward to living a long time and having enough $ so that whenever I have kids I'll have enough to keep them comfortable too!!!
Expecting first baby in July!!!

Hi Shininjatti,
I could "feel" you calling me, I just forgot where this thread was located.
First, only YOU know what you really want to do, what you really desire in your life, and no one here can tell you what to do, however, we can tell you what we did, or didn't do, and WHY we think we can help you.
So, take all of our advice, use what "feels" right to you, and toss the rest.
So, in answer to some of your questions.
Cigarettes will NOT kill you immediately, unless you set yourself on fire or something. So, if that is something you truly Desire to do, then do it. Smoke that is, not the fire part. LOL
IF, however you are choosing to make a clean break of things, and wanting to make healthier choices in life, then you may choose to either limit your smoking to only a couple a day, or not at all.
Realize that when you make a major life shift, like choosing to end an addictive substance, whether it be cooked food, or cigarettes, that your physical AND emotional self will probably rebel, and rebel STRONGLY.
So, prepare for that, sometimes it's easiest if you are alone, and without your addictive substance, sometimes it's easier if you are really busy with friends, and you see everyone else doing it (like smoking) and you are making a conscious choice not to. It just depends on your personality.
I find things easier to do when I'm alone, where I can be at peace with myself, and take the time to really "feel" my addictions going away.
I like the peace and quiet best.
That is probably because most of my friends have no clue about raw food, or not drinking and not smoking. I only have a few close friends, most are clients, or business associates, and none are 100% raw (YET), one can always hope.
You've got alot of good questions, don't choose to think they are dumb questions.
Now, about this living older thing.
When I was 19, I felt like I knew everything, and that I could conguer the world, I was right. When I hit 20 I felt OLD. No more high school, I had been working at a day job since I was 15, I had a 5 year old child, I really felt old.
But I figured I would just kill myself at 30, as why would ANYONE want to live past that age? Or at least that is what I thought at 20.
So, when I did hit 30, and I hit it hard, I was a professional Belly Dancer, I had just returned from an Asian engagement, I had a really well paying day job, with the city for mass bucks, I was building a castle on and island with my tall gorgeous hunky hubby, my son was 15 and pretty much on his own, so I had the time of my life, I drove a Mercedes, and bought antiqes, I was quite famous, and was writing articles for 6 publications, so I was doing fine. I decided to stick around.
When I hit 40, I had my beautiful home on the lake, I now owned 9 businesses, I was still working for the city, with even more income, I was a published author and artist, I drove an even more fancy Merceds, I toured the country with my art, and I was a professional psychic, and they were starting to pay me the big bucks to come and speak at pagan events.
Then I hit 50, Now, I was totally self employed and making more money in one hour, that I had made in one week at the city, I was published 30+ times, my art was going for thousands each, and I was driving a classic Mercedes Daimlar Benz Roadster (with the 24 carat gold trim)-a limited edition classic. And my newest hubby (number 5) was even hunkier than before.
So, although it may seem unbelievable to you NOW, your life gets even better as you mature, and become wiser, and more seasoned.
I mean after all, fine wine takes time and patience, as does the beautiful bouquet of a fine woman, or man for that matter.
So, don't decide TODAY, how long you will live, but DO decide TODAY, the QUALITY of YOUR life.
Blessings to you dear spirit, you deserve to be happy.

Dang Rawpriestess! Forget about the jucing topic, let's talk about your vehicle!!!!
Shinjatti, please keep in mind that "wheening (sp?)" off a juice fast is as serious as the fast itself. Since the digestive system is shut down, it's usually recommended to drink freshly juice orange for the first day and work into lights easily digestible foods. :)
