Gegeh... I did just do one two days ago!
It was my very first, last week I suddenly felt an urge to do it and just couldn't neglect it (really, it was like my liver was pulling me by the hair to dó it or else...!). Never in my life would I have thought I would ever do something like this!

I didn't do the whole preparation thing and I didn't do any parasite or whatever cleanse beforehand. I think it depends on the person (your health, how toxic your body is, etc), but I just felt I could do it like that. I figured that the whole raw food thing that I had been doing for weeks now, has been a good preparation by itself (most of the people who do this flush actually don't eat raw), so I didn't do all the apples and the applejuice (I haven't got a juicer and didn't want to drink the pasteurized stuff from the store). I did eat two apples but left it by that (I'm not really an apple girl).

It was an interesting experiment/experience and I would probably do it again, and although it's too early to say yet what the long term effects will be, my liver feels a lot less clogged, and I've already noticed improvement in my digestion. In general, I found it very easy to do, and I passed a lot of stones and stuff.

If you have questions, just ask. Not that I'm an expert now, but as a 'normal girl' (meaning no cleansing experience or whatsoever except for the 2 or 3 times in my life I tried to fast half heartedly and 'failed' ), who just did a liver cleanse, I just thought it wasn't scary or difficult or anything weird at all.
http://curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.asp has a lot of information as well, especially in the forum (Alissa posted the Hulda Clark recipe from that site).

If I notice any other health benefits the upcoming days, I'll post!

Thanks Judy, for sharing your experience!

I am very suprised that no one else is interested in doing a liver cleanse right now??? Maybe I should post it in another category? Maybe the "fasting" category??

    Hmm....

I am doing one next week! It will be my first. I REALLY need one and want to do it after reading Andreas' book. Somehow I cannot do the apple juice. I am going to susstitute with Malic acid powder for the 6 days and then do it. I was going to do it a few weeks ago but I was too scared and didn't think that was a good state to be in to do this. I feel so ready for it now.

My body is not in a good state at all so I need to do this!!

    Little Mango,

I am so glad someone else is going to do this with me!! Please check in on how it goes!!

    And I'll keep you posted!!

Now, come on everyone...where are you at?? We can't be the only two that are ready to do a liver cleanse?? It's not all that scary!

In fact, somewhere I was reading a poll that said most people that tried it, said they'd do it again and that they liked doing it and saw much benefit from it. So it can't be that bad, if they'd do it again.

OK I have been thinking about doing one this week. I have done two in the past. The first one I prepared a little more in that I drank a quart of apple juice over about 3-4 days before hand (not exactly what they recommend but it was something at least) and I did pretty good getting lots of stones. The second one I just jumped in and did it and got very few small ~tiny~ stones. So it seems better to prepare for it correctly. I have lots of apples right now so will start tomorrow eating them...how many do you think?

So shall we "prepare" all week and make Sunday THE DAY? It will be good to have some support and to compare results etc!:)

Ya!! I'm still in! My Malic acid came yesterday so I will be starting the 6 day prep tomorrow. Cleansing between the 12th and the 27th of this month is the best time coz we will be between the new and full moon!!

    P.S...I am scared

PPs. Which regimen are you guys following? Is it the only Alissa posted? I'll be following the Andreas Moritz one. Also I am wanting to get a colonic a few days after

    Wink

    Hi Little Mango!

I am planning on taking my Olive oil concoction on Saturday night. Its the only day I can be sure I dont need to leave the house the next morning.

I need to be eating more apples though! I am going to get a gallon of apple juice and start drinking that over the next few days.

Dont be scared! I was too on my first cleanse but it was really no big deal. Have you ever done a master cleanse? if so you will be fine and will know what to expect. I didnt have any adverse effects at all and felt great afterwards. I would suggest going on curezone and reading up on their liver cleanse thread so you get comfortable with the idea.

I tell ya- i go to work for a few days and I miss all kinds of stuff!! so... there's a liver cleanse going on - okay... I'm a bit behind here - so.... what is this I'm reading about eating all these apples? I can't eat apples I'll go into a very bad place!!! I don't recall reading anything on Alissas liver cleanse to eat apples.... maybe that's why I had such a hard time when I did my liver cleanse?? It literally kicked my arse.... I was down for about 3 days.... Yikes!!!

I want to go on a cleanse too... but I'm now thinking how can I do this without eating apples??

    hmmmm... any ideas rawbies??

You don't need to eat the apples.
It's all about the pectine (to soften the 'stones' if needed, but most of them are soft anyway), which can be found in all fruits and vegetables (so that's why raw food usually is enough), only apples (esp. tart ones) have a lót of it. Other fruits that have lots are oranges (and I believe other types of citrus fruits as well), plums, cranberries, gooseberries and pears. So you could eat those as well.
Remember that most people who do a liver flush, aren't raw foodists. So they may need those apples more ;).

Prior to your flush, you can aid the liver by drinking lemon water (lukewarm water with juice of half a lemon) first thing in the morning and maybe again one hour or so before lunch, grapefruit and orange (whole or as juice), eating low fat and more fruits and greens, drinking herbal tea especially for the liver, and do liver packs with castor oil (google it up). Alternative health practices like affirmations and visualizations, dealing with certain emotional issues, acupuncture etc. may help as well.

The flush is different for everyone, depending on age, health etc. For me it was rather easy, however I have been tired for a couple of days after and needed extra sleep. I also couldn't handle fatty things very well the first days after. It dóes have an impact on your body, so you have to take a lot of rest and extra care of yourself on the days after the flush, but in the long term it's all for the better :). I'd certainly do it again, because I do feel the benefits. After the flush I also started incorporating some of the things above like grapefruit juice, liver tea and liver packs, to take extra (after)care of my hardworking liver...

Hi Hawaiigirl. I wouldn't want to go into doing a liver flush if I hadn't researched lots and lots. I have been reading about it for months but have been too chicken to do it. Oh and I am a few days behind you I'm gonna take mi olive oil/G juice a couple of days after you!

I'll try not to be scared about it!:)

Starfire, I agree with everything Judy said. You can susbtitute for cranberry juice, it works just as well. You can also do ACV. Mix one to two tablespoons in a glass of water and drink 4 servings per day for the six days. (This is from "The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder flush" by Andreas Moritz)
