Anne Wigmore's Energy Soup
I'd love to hear peoples experiences of eating the classic energy soup. How often you took it/how much/what quantities you used of each ingredient/what effect it had on you etc
Are you speaking of Rejuvilac?

Our PLANET is so Precious. God created this and its up to us to respect it. Did you know the Water we use today is the same water Moses used? RECYCLE everything you can at least once.... Let's keep this going...........
the recipe by Anne Wigmore -
6 cups Greens (sunflower greens/5 day old baby greens/weeds)
2 cups Bean sprouts
2 tsb dulse
1 apple/1/2 papaya
optional other greens/herbs
optional other sprouts
This is the rejuvelac recipe:
These recipes produce break proteins & carbohydrates into easily-digestible amino acids, starches and sugars. Plus they are rich in enzymes and "Life Force" - usually destroyed by cooking or processing. A diet of raw foods has been known to reverse disease and the effects of the Standard American Diet (SAD). Organic foods that promote vibrant health include: fruit, veggies, fresh raw juices, sprouted beans and seeds, nuts, pure water and clean air. "Life Force" is the information memory stored in live plants which can be absorbed by humans
1c wheat berries (organic soft white pastry wheat is best)
3c spring or filtered water.
Rinse wheat, remove floaters. Soak for 48 hrs. Pour off, rinse. Add 2c water to the same wheat, this time soak for 24 hrs. Soak 3 times. Keep in a dark place. Ferment to taste, tart not sour. Use any seed with hull. We can add a bundle of wheatgrass to while fermenting. Variations cause different results. Fermentation is faster in warm weather. Keeps for about 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
The energy soup and rejuvelac are two different things.
I couldnt get my mum to eat it without her pulling her face the whole time and saying she was feeling sick, even though I left out the greens and just used 1/2 cup green sprouts and 1/2 cup bean sprouts. Today instead of the apple I added 2 bananas and 2 cups blackberries, and served it in a bowl with a spoon as dessert. She didn't notice it was any different from when I usually blend banana, avocado and berries. She said it was heavenly and delicious and gorgeous!!
I know its not enough of the sprouts, but its a good start. I'm going to try adding them to some of her other favourite recipes and see if I get away with that.
ok, folks. ya'll had my curiosity going, so this is what i did. sunday night i started a batch of lentils and mungs to soak and sprout. they've sprouted quite nicely since yesterday morning, but i'll leave them out for another day or so then start another batch of whatever beans strike my mood at that moment.
also sunday night i took a 1/2 cup of a grain mix that i have for raw muesli that includes: oat groats, hard red winter wheat, flax, millet, rye, barley, spelt, amaranth and i can't remember what else and 1 quart of water and used "method one" in this rejuvelac recipe. http://www.goneraw.com/recipes/475-Rejuvelac
this morning, the rejuvelac was starting to get foamy upon swirl so i went ahead and strained the first batch and loaded up for the second.
in the vitamix:
1/4 c soaked brazil nuts (out of avocados) with 1/2 cup rejuvelac and made nut mylk - did not strain
1 small red pepper
1 large piece of watermelon
1/4 of a seedless cuke
1/2 of a smallish zucchini
2 handfulls of baby mesclun mix
2 leaves romaine
about 1/2 cup of the sprouts
gave it all a good whirl and it's, well, interesting. very sprouty tasting. not horrible, but not great. very filling.
would probably add garlic or chili or curry for more flavor and less sprout next time, but would do again. probably for lunch.
the vegetables and fruits will probably vary with whatever i have on hand, so don't know if this is truly "energy soup", but there you have it.
yesterday's experiment proved interesting. i did have greater energy, and wasn't hungry again until late afternoon.
today's "energy soup" (at least i hope so)
1 cup rejuvelac (i strained off the second quart and used that, tossed the grains in the compost bin -it's stronger smelling than the first round, but very mildly flavored - not unpleasant)
2 leaves romaine
2 handfulls mesclun mix
1 cup lentil and mung sprouts
1 small red sweet pepper
1/2 medium zuke
1/2 large granny smith apple
it's sweeter than yesterday's - probably the zuke - and thicker, probably cuz no watermelon.
it's still sprouty tasting, but not as sprouty as yesterday, and definitely edible.
we'll see how today goes.
