Nutrition Class - Question
I just read for one of my nutrition classes that I am to record all my daily food and beverage intake for 3 days. Should I just record what I DO eat or kind of um, fudge things a little bit and add in some cooked on paper? I'm not one to advocate lying or anything, but I'd rather prevent a lecture or something ya know?

I'd tell the truth and lead by example. I know you're not big on standing up for yourself yet, how about assuming that no lecture will happen? See, I'm not saying it WONT, yet, sometimes what we fear we create so, instead of fearing it, what if this gives you a chance to explain your food program and becomes a discussion rather than a lecture?
You can bring in "proof" besides yourself, that you are receiving all the nutrients you need; get a chance to talk about the dairy industry (notmilk.com) and the strength of the meat and dairy lobbies, etc. How's that sound?

Hi Dream!
I understand where you are coming from with the whole "fudging it" to avoid the lecture. But I would be honest in my journal. If they give you a lecture, just smile and nod. YOU know you are doing what is best for you. Isn't that the more important aspect overall? HTH!

Hey Dream! I'm required to do the same thing this semester, but I'm in an online course so I'm not worried about Public lectures or embarrassment, and the professor is really nice, so...whatever. I'm also a bit rebellious so if I WOULD get a lecture in public I'd just state "How come it's viewed as ok for joe over there in the corner to be drinking copious amounts of alcohol, but my consumption of a pound of cauliflower is abnormal?"
Just tell the truth, or fudge it - whatever makes you more comfortable. I posted about this in yesterdays blog entry.....no one will question your allegiance to raw if you cover your butt for school. If the preparation details have to be included, just say it's raw. If not, just write "cauliflower"...or play stupid or something haha

I, personally, would never pass up an opportunity to plant a seed for someone else. Maybe there's someone in your class that has issues and needs to hear about this option. It's not about you, so don't worry if someone trys to make it seem that way. It's about the message that needs to get out.

I would write down exactly what I have, and if the teacher wants to lecture then ask if you can have your own say explaining why you eat the way you do.
Nutrition isn't a subject where one thing fits everyone. I think that these classes are wonderful places where people can learn about different ways of eating while still getting all the nutrients they need.
I can't WAIT to have my nutrition classes!!!
