Calling all dry-skin-brushers!!
1. I've read about circular brush motion and sweeping brush motion. Which one do you do?
2. How do you brush the tummy?
3. How do you brush your chest?
4. Back?
5. How long have you been brushing?
Thank you in advance for sharing!!

I do a sweeping motion from the tips of my fingers to my torso, from my toes to my belly. Always towards the heart. I brush my stomach in an upward motion towards my heart. Breasts should be brushed carefully and gently. Don't brush your nipples. I brush from the nipple area toward my body. Does that make since? I've brushed on and off for years. Not consistently recently though. Thanks for the reminder. I need to get started again. I brush before I shower. The first thing I notice when I start brushing regularly is my skin starts to get a glow to it, and if my legs are dry, the alligator skin goes away pretty quickly. Start out gently, take your time doing it. Think of it as a pampering treatment, but do it every day if possible.
Maybe we should start a skin brushing challenge??

I forgot to say, my brush has a long handle, so my back is easy. Just reach behind and brush. From my butt, up to the middle of my back, from my shoulders down to the middle of my back. You always want to work toward the heart.

Skin brushing challenge would be great. I just started doing it and it feels so good. It makes me skin tingle all over and is very invigorating. Thanks for the reminder. I haven't brushed today.
Do you brush once a day or twice?

For me once a day. Usually in the evening.

I brush too! I use a loofah because it's the only thing that I find that is rough enough yet comfortable on the skin!
I brush until my skin has a slight pink hue. I have been doing this for a month and I have noticed a big difference!! My skin is clearer, less in grown hairs on the back of my legs and my skin looks smoother in texture, less dried out. I'm alive!! lol... who knew.

I use a brush with agave bristles. I've had it forever. Every so often I take it into he shower with me and wash it with Dr. Bronners soap, and hang it to dry for the next time I use it.
-
Mine has agave bristles too. I was wondering how long you brush. Till your skin gets pink or just a couple of strokes and move on?
OK, what are all of the benefits of brushing?
smooth skin?
helps with cullilte?
Anything else I should know about? I just want to be doing all I can to help my body. I've started oil pulling too.
Happy brushing. :)

I like oil pulling too, but I need to start getting up earlier in the morning to do it. I don't give myself enough time before i have to leave for work.
I brush usually 6 strokes on each area of my body. This is just my method. Not anything I've read anywhere. For instance, the fronts of each leg get 6 strokes, each side, 6 strokes, backs, 6 strokes. I don't know where I came up with the # 6, or if it has any deeper meaning. Who knows?

Do you guys use circular or sweeping motion?
-
Circular on the cellulite areas, ending in strokes upward to the heart. I brush once a day before my shower.
Here's some quick info:

I do 8 strokes. Teresa Tapp (www.t-tapp.com) had a seminar on this and this is what she suggests.

I have been doing both the skin brushing and sugar scrubbing, and just love it! ~ Cathy

Brushing is great for so many reasons! I use the Yerba Prima brushes and they hold up great with their natural fibers.
I don't do it as regularly as I should .. for awhile I did it daily and then stopped.
