Default Tinea Versicolor - Some advice please!

Ok, I am looking for new advice on this.

Several months ago I treated some dark spots on my skin which I found were called tinea veriscolor. They went away successfully with tea tree oil and they haven't returned.

Now, I have the same thing again but this time the spots are white and they are multiplying. I have them all over my back and on my chest and under my boobs.

I tried a natural sulfur clay I bought online but it didn't seem to helping. I got desperate and tried a OTC cream but I have the spots in such large areas that I use up a 8$ tube very fast which is too expensive for me now. So far, the spots are not budging and the cream doesn't seem to be working.

The bad part is that sometimes the spots seems to be getting worse.

Another thing is that I am very tan right now so I have to wait for my tan to fade for the spots to be less noticeable.

Does anyone know how to fade a tan? I think lemon juice? It would be nice if I could get my natural skin color back (even though I prefer to be tan) just so the spots would blend in more and I wouldn't look too much like a leopard. (I am naturally very pale)

Or if anyone has the white spots like this and had success at getting rid of them - please give me some advice.

I am not working right now so I can't afford to go to a dermatologist (I would prefer to do it the natural way anyhow).

Anyone ever tried Tetrasil - it is supposed to a natural cream that is supposed to get rid of this. I have read some good testomonies online but you can never know if those are real.

Even though I heard that sun is supposed to kill yeast fungus - being in the sun and getting tan made my spots more noticeable so I am avoiding the sun for now.

(FYI: I did try a candida diet - since this is a yeast fungus - and that is when the white spots started appearing. So I really do not want to do that again).

    Hi aililiu!

    Thanks!

I thought of that actually. I did the candida diet I would say about a month and a half ago. I did alot of anti-fungals and I had a bad detox (yeast die off I guess) and I got pretty sick. I don't think I had the white spots at that time - I was trying to get rid of the dark ones.

I think the white spots did start appearing maybe a week or two after. It took me a week or so to recover from that detox. They did not appearing during the detox.

I went back to eating a little cooked after that.

I shoulda wrote all this down! :) he he! I do know they showed after I went off the diet though.

What is frustrating is that even if I treat them and get rid of the fungus I won't be able to tell because the "untanned" spots won't turn tan and blend in with the rest of skin after the fungus dies.

I will have to wait until my tan fades (which is pretty dark for me) and re-tan again to see if they show up or not to see if it has gone away or not. Kind of wishing they were the dark spots instead.

    Default garlic

I've had TV spots for about a year now. I don't like putting chemicals in or on my body, so now I'm trying something else. I've read that garlic is quite antifungal. So I've added a clove of garlic to my juice every morning. I'm only on day 2, so I'll let you know if it works, though it might be hard to tell with the summer tan. I like garlic, so the smell doesn't bother me. But my breath is very garlicy for most of the day and my skin smells different.
I've also read that foods to avoid are dried fruits. So if the garlic doesn't do the trick by itself, my next approach is to keep doing the daily garlic and cut out the raisins. Also avoid fermented foods (ie rejuvelac).

    Thanks all!

NoGMO - Yes, I have tried the tea tree and it worked great on my dark spots but I can't tell on my white spots because of my tan.

I am working on exfoliateing my tan off. I am putting straight lemon juice on my tan to try to lighten it. I also read that sugar and lemon juice together make a kind of natural bleach. So, I am going to make a lemon/sugar scrub and use that on my skin too. So far the lemon seems to be working a little bit. I have a dark tan and my natural skin is really white so I have a while to go yet. :) As soon as it gets more "matching", I am going to go back to the tea tree.

GlowWorm - I don't like garlic myself but yes, it is anti-fungal. Another thing you might try if you are going to do internal anti-fungals is Pau D' Arco tea. It is a very strong anti-fungal. I had yeast detox from it. I stopped drinking it for a while. I might start up again with small amounts.

Also coconut oil is anti-fungal and good for your skin anyhow.

It is frustrating because I can't tell if I have killed any fungus because I have to wait for the tan to go away and than re tan again to see if the spots do or do not come back.
