    Default Raw restaurants in Orlando?

    Hey all!

I will be moving to Orlando, FL in September, and was wondering if there were any raw restaurants around? I'm moving from a very small area of upstate NY and am excited at the possibility of a more raw-friendly place to live!

    Default Anything?

I'll be in Orlando Sat thru Tue and was wondering if there's anything raw in Orlando or close enough? No response to brawdwaybaby's post, kind of discouraging news.

Is there at least a place where I can shop for organic salad stuff?

i was born and raised in deland, which is a little north of orlando. i don't know of anything in actual orlando, but there is a great raw food restaurant in flagler beach called almond blossom cafe. their phone number is 386-439-7544and the address is 408 s. daytona ave. falgler beach, fl 32136. if you do decide to go there it is pretty easy to get there, but let me warn you that the place is in a neighborhood. so it is deceiving when you are driving on the road that they are located on. you're thinking, "is this right, it can't be" but trust me it is, just keep on going it's there. they do have a big sign that is outside so you can't miss it. if you get directions from online i would suggest from yahoo.com that's where i got mine from and i got there w/o a problem in the dark at night. they have raw potlucks and really great activities on saturday evenings and everything. the owners are absolutely wonderful and they have calendars of events and you can sign up and they will let you know what events are coming, etc. so maybe even if you can't make it down there to the restaurant you can call them and explain your situation and they might be better to assist you in pointing you in a good direction. hope this helps and if you can get there to try the food, like i said it was great.

I believe there is a Whole Foods in Winter Park. I'm from Groton, between Cotland and Ithaca. Moving to Corning area next summer~PS...there is araw restaurant in St. Augustine but that's a bit of a haul for you from Orlando~

Not sure of anything--but off topic, there is a section of I-4 in Polk County that remains closed due to a 70 car pile up.

Back OT--I wish I new of a raw foods restuarant. I live in Central Florida, but don't know of any.

The Whole Foods if IIRC is somewhat small.

Where I live, we used to have a "raw" restaurant, but they switched gears and went organic on us. So no more raw.

Sun-seed co-op in Cape Canaveral features raw foods (not a restaurant though) as does "Health Station" on A1A in Indialantic (that's the restaurant that is now organic--but they do have raw items in the store). Nothing worth driving over for, but if you happen to be going to the beach...there they are. :)
66% raw began on December 26, 2007. (will transition higher after the Goofy at WDW!)

    Default Orlando Restaurants

I heard of one that just opened. If I find the reference, I'll post again.

The closing of I-4 will not effect anone landing at the Orlando airport and staying in Orlando.

    FloridaPatty~
Dandelion Communitea looks like a cool restaurant but don't see anything raw, only vegetarian/vegan. Love the site though~

    Default Thanks!

Hey, I really appreciate the suggestions! Flagler Beach might be a bit far, but I'll try to get to the dandelion.

While clicking around on the Internet I found a Raw Food Restaurant Guide.

    http://rawfoodrestaurantguide.com

Check it out. I wrote to Emily (the generous maintainer of this guide) to add Chianti's in Beverly, MA.

Thanks, all. Keep writing, I'll keep checking back while I'm traveling.
