Hi. I have always been prone to bruising (always been a tomboy) but since going raw I seem to be noticing even more???
Is there some nutrient that I'm missing, or certain foods which help heal them?
Any advice would be great, thanks.:)
MSM, Vitamin K....those are what I've always heard of.

Darn - me too! I mean I used to bruise very easily and now - no. In fact I was using the handcart at work and banged my right shin - WHAM into it, had a hell of a knot and it started bruising, but the next morning both the knot AND bruise were gone. I don't know what to say to add. I know water intake and dry skin brushing helps skin (our biggest organ) tremendously.
You know what's coming next:
two words: green smoothies...
Wow, that's some great info. I do take many of the supplements listed except for zink and K. I should be getting enough fruits and veggies (AND YES Green Smoothies).
But hopefully they will start to go away, it's only been 30+ days. How long did it take before your bruise-tendency went away???
For me, after moving towards raw:
For the first six months, the bruising got WORSE (and I bruised alot before), but then I realized I wasn't getting much vitamin K or Iron.
I took a look at my food intake and it was obvious why - I didn't eat many greens at all.
it was weird, because I would have dreams about cucumbers, but it never occured to me that I was deficient.
ANYWAYS now I don't bruise at all
For me I'd say about six months into being 100% raw...
Interesting. Something to look forward to for sure. Does raw make you less clumsy too? Hee-hee. Thanks again for the info!!
I went camping and canoeing a few weeks ago and our canoe tipped over in some rapids and I got sucked in and bruised up my knees and my shins big time on some large rocks. I had a ton of bruises. I bruise pretty easy too.
When I got home I put MSM lotion on the bruises - they were gone within two days. Normally it would take a week or so for them to go away. I also take MSM powder daily. :)
I'm late chiming in, but when I was in college I developed bruises all over my legs/arms and it was a simple case of vitamin C deficiency. Another sign is a smooth tongue. I started taking vitamin C or maybe just eating citrus (I can't remember) and I was fine w/in a couple of days and never bruised like that again.
...smooth tongue? You have one if you bruise easily?
I bruise VERY easily and I have brittle nails and my hair does not grow very fast? Advice?

No, that's just another sign of a Vitamin C deficiency. Excessive bruising is another one. Bruising doesn't automatically mean a vitamin c deficiency, but since it was such an easy fix for me I thought I would share my anecdote.

My sister just started to add morning raw smoothies with lots of fruit and greens to her diet and all of a sudden she is bruising lots more. I really am not sure what the connection is???
MSM will help you will all these problems! Try the powder for your hair and nails. Lotion will help the bruises.

I have been home for a week and am back on my daily green smoothie, and haven't got a bruise in sight.
