    Default Bugs

I really am starting to think that bugs are here to help us. Yes they can take down whole crops but would they? If we could stop clear cutting down all the trees for cattle and paper then I think they would leave us alone. I know if I were going to die if I didn’t eat then I would eat some ones else’s stuff.

But also I think they know when the food is bad and not edible so they eat it to keep us from eating it..

I have 10 HUGE tomato plants that give about 15 tomatoes per week.

I also have 20 or so VERY large yellow grass hoppers who live in them.

I have watched them and they eat about a large tomato leaf a day. They never touch my tomatoes ! I don’t cover them or spray them, they are there for me and the bugs and birds.

But I never have a bug or bird touch them. Also I pick them and set them out on a patio table to ripen to deep red outside in the sun for about 3 days. And nope no bugs or birds eat them! They are the best tomatoes I have ever planted !

2 years ago I had a problem with bugs, birds and squirrels. When I would FINNALY get a tomatoes for me it kind of sucked, tasteless and some would split a lot while growing.

Any way I thought it was kinda cool .
Remember. We are very blessed in that we get to Choose what we eat. That is better than winning the lottery.

You are very luck nothing is getting your tomatoes. I'm lucky to rescue ANY!
I live out in the country and between the coons, possums, rats, birds, squirrels, rabbits, wild hogs, deer, and at least a dozen kind of insect larvae, I'm lucky to get to enjoy any of my homegrown fruit and vegetables at all! It's looking like I'll have to sit up all night with a rifle in one hand and a can of bug spray in the other if THIS keeps up!
