Default Sprouting Question using the dehydrator?

    Hi,

I've had some wheat berries sprouting for a few days now and want to make some bread. So how do I dry these now? In the dehydrator? Do I have to grind them in the coffee grinder if my bread recipe calls for 2 cups of wheat berries?

The sprouting thing is new to me. Also heard you can use your dehydrator to sprout your seeds but have been doing the jar method. I just got my Excalibur on Monday. Do any of you sprout seeds in your dehydrator?

The books that I have say that you should grind the berries in a food processor or preferably in a juicer that can handle it. This will form a dough. I have never made bread out of wheatberries, so I can't speak from experience. I have never heard of dehydrating them after you sprout. ;)

I have never sprouted using the dehydrator, the countertop method works well for me.

    KellyL,

Thanks so much. Okay I'll just throw them in from the jar and try my blender to grind them up. I'm going to try and make bread today.

    Default hmm

No U can sprout and then dehydrate them to dry them if you arent going to use them right away to have on hand in the future so u dont have to re sprout in the future... Its a convenient trick.

but the life force energy will be much more abundant if they are freshly sprouted so if you can its better fresh. i have been thinking about dehydrating the sprouts and then grinding it up into a flower to make the dough less sticky when im putting it on the dehydrater sheets (just to put on my hands like you do with normal bread; ha even though this seems much more normal to me u get my idea). the masticating juicer with the blank screen is definitely the way to go if you have it, next on the list being a food processor. i feel like a blender would be a complete nightmare; plus the trauma the process could prevent you from every making bread again, and we dont want that to happen! craig sommers, author of the raw food bible (an excellent book) says he has been using an old hand crank meat grinder for years and it works fine....
