Default Mastication juicer vs. centrifugal juicer????

    HI,

I haven't bought my juicer yet. The only thing stopping me is not knowing which one to buy. What is the difference between a mastication juicer and a centrifugal juicer? I heard omega 8005 and the Champion juicer are good. Some people say the Breville fountain juicer works great. Any help for a newbie?
    Thx

i would say get a good masticating juicer (i havean omega) along with a cheap centrifugal for super liquidy stuff (carrots, cukes, fruit). the masticating really does well to squeeze out the green juice, but wastes a lot when juicing carrots beets cukes, celery, and pretty much any fruit (i would imagine pomegranate would be better juiced in a masticating). im pretty sure you can get a good centrifugal for around 50 bucks so there really shouldnt be anythign stopping you from gettin both kinds if youre serious about it (but then again im not inside youre wallet so i cant really know) hope that helps

I have an Omega 8003 and something. It is masticating. I also have an old Omega that is the centrifigal. I like Omega. I really like the masticating juicer for several reasons.

    1. Easy Cleanup!
    2. Mastication means more juice and dryer pulp
    3. Did I say Easy Cleanup!:)

With a centrifigal juicer you have to stop and clean the pulp out of the filter. There is even one that shoots the pulp out into a container, but still has a mesh container inside that you have to clean.

My Omega has two little plastic bins that hold the juice and pulp respectively. If the pulp gets full, just empty and keep going. Cleanup is so easy. That is really important if you juice a lot.

If I had more money I'd get an Omega, but I bought a used Champion for ninety bucks and it's the best investment I ever made. I use it an average of twice a day, five days a week, and I do juice greens with it, no problem. It might not be the best but it's danged good. My blended juices are the best multi-vitamin I ever took!

I have a Champion juicer that I bought new in 1987 and over the years I have really used it a lot. It has never broken and Continues to run strong. I bought a new blade for it last year and thats the only part I have replaced. Everyday I set up my juicer after I get up and have a juice breakfast. Then I continue to make smaller amounts of juice every 15 to 30 minutes for about the next 2 hours until my body signals that it is ready for some solid foods.
