Perfect prescription tooth soap

I am thinking about ordering this because I do not want to use regular toothpaste anymore, but I don't feel comfortable brushing with just water ...

So, for those who use or have used this, is it better to get the liquid or the shreds ... Which one lasts longer? Also, what flavor do you like best :-p

Thanks for your opinions ... I just want to make the right choice before I spend a good amount of money on this product.

I bought both types of tooth soap, though I started with the dry one. If you want bang for your buck then the dry shreds version is better. It will last a long time and it's so easy to just pack a bit in a container to bring with you so you can brush anywhere. (I do this all the time and brush after meals at restaurants, at school, etc...)

But I must say I like the liquid one too. I got the citrus version on sale, and it feels really good to brush with. Right now my system is to brush with the liquid toothsoap in the morning and at night and use the shreds whenever I'm out and about, or at someone else's house, etc.

I like the citrus for the liquid soap, I like the minty one for the shreds. But I ordered some cinnamon for my next shreds bottle, but I've still got loads of mint left so I will finish it first.

It feels really good and clean on your teeth, you'll really like it! I got my dad to start using it, he has some gum issues so it will surely help him. He said his teeth felt so clean after he tried it. :)

Thanks Pixieled, I think I will get the spearmint shreds to begin with because I will want something that will last long and be easy to take along with me wherever I go. :)

You can get the same or better results using Dr. Bronner's liquid soap. They use the correct amount of glycerin just like Tooth Soap & it's way cheaper. The T.S. liquid dried out my mouth excessively. Dr. Bronner's doesn't.

GilmoreGirl- So Dr. Bronner's soap is just regular natural soap? Like for hands and body? Does it taste good?

Hi, I'm curious to find out more about this other soap. I've seen it at health food stores but I back then I was buying "Burt's bees" products and other things, so I never thought of using it on my teeth.

More information please! :) (I'm still going to keep using my tooth soap since I have a lot of it left, and it works for me, for the time being of course.)

I just wanted to add...I love tooth soap!!!! I've only been using it since Feb., and my teeth and gums feel great. I haven't tried the liquid tooth soap yet, only the shreds. I've tried the cinnamon, and mint...and prefer the mint (the cinnamon still tastes a bit too soapy for me)

But as far as the glycerin goes...I thought one of the whole reasons of using tooth soap was to get away from that, cuz it coats your teeth thus preventing re-enamelization?. The ingredients on the Tooth Soap bottle are: soap made from: saponified coconut, palm, and extra virgin olive oil, and pure essential oils.

Tooth Soap also has glycerin in it. Tooth Soap company says to avoid products with over 55% glycerin, Dr. Bronners is only 2-3%. They are both an acquired taste. I was surprised to find Tooth Soap didn't flavor it more considering the cost. I find the baby mild is best & you can dilute it with water and/or flavoring. Also like how it has multi-purposes. Especially good for traveling.

From Toothsoap: Glycerine that is produced during saponifcation cannot be skimmed off the soap, as it is a part of the soap. We do not use any chemicals to remove the small amount of glycerine by product that stems from the soap making process. We have found that the small amount of glycerine alcohol coming from the process does not affect the cleansing ability of the soap in any & certainly does not coat the teeth with residue. What needs to be avoided are products that contain over 55% added glycerine, that will coat teeth & prevent re-enamelization.

I believe someone on this forum contacted them about it & that's what they said. Then Dr. Bronner's was contacted about how much glycerin theirs has.

So I bought Dr. Bronner's a couple days ago just for the convienice and the cheaper price :-p ... I bought the bar though do you all think thats ok?

I read that bar soap is fine (article below). I actually find the liquid more convenient because there's a ton of stuff you can do with it. You can find it cheaper on-line.
