I've just started pulling with raw organic coconut oil, too soon to say how its going but i like it! my teeth feel cleaner and at the bottom of the front back teeth it feels a little rough like it does when the dentist gives it a good clean. I'm taking this as a good sign.

I get cold sores so im hoping it knocks them on the head or at least reduce how often they occur.

People seem to benefit from any oil. I am using flax oil.

    Default New to Oil Pulling

I started oil pulling with extra virgin coconut oil two days ago. I started because I had slimy white areas on my tongue that would not go away, no matter what. I'd read that OP would take care of this, as well as a whole bunch of other issues. I've done it twice now. It was a little weird at first, kind of gross, but I hung in for 15 minutes each time. It was amazing how clean my mouth felt. My teeth felt squeaky clean. The slimy white stuff on my tongue was gone. I am in shock that something so simple is finally WORKING!!! I will post any further improvements. Off to do some OP right now

    Talking Coconut Oil pulling

I am loving coconut oil pulling, I am not a fan of olive oil, too thick. Although I did enjoy the grape seed oil. My friend gave me some of her coconut oil, it doesn't take much. Every time I do it, my mouth is so much cleaner, even after brushing and my teeth aren't as sensitive to cold foods. It's amazing!

I am experimenting and seeing if I can heal my cavities, so I don't have to spend thousands of dollars with crowns!! I think it's possible!! Also taking tuna omega's to give my body the right kinds of fats to absorb and push out internal toxins. :)

    Yeah !!

Tuna omegas are not the right sort of fats ... especially on a vegan forum.

I read and researched and decided about 5 days ago to just do it. What bad could happen and it's not like it's expensive, right? I've been using Coconut now for five days.

I swear, on the first morning I used it, my niece who I see every single day said, "Wow, you're teeth look pretty." She is 3 and I live with her and sh ehas never said anything before about my teeth. We were outside in the sun so maybe there was some shine from the oil or vaseline on my lips??

I find it is very easy to do and laugh when I read (on the sites I researched b/c I have not gone back and read this entire thread, yet) that people are busy and have no time. I don't buy that. I get up and take a spoon of oil and just go with it. Sometimes, I check mail, sometimes I take a shower and get ready. I don't seem to have any concerns with the 20 mintue time frame and I must say if I am in the bathroom, I do spit it in the sink and rinse it out after.

I try to spit it out and then drink and swish around water and spit that out, then drink a bottle or so. That way, I get water in right away and wash out my mouth. Honestly, though, I don't mind the taste and it seems like jsut drinking coconut water.

So, since then I think (but it might be mind over reality, not sure) my skin is brighter and clearer. I don't use as much oil on my feet (heels). I don't feel as hungry. NOt sure if this is for real or just me thinking it. I also am more aware of when I eat because I like oil pulling and know I need about 4 hours of not eating to do it.

ANyway, all good to report. Gonna go read from the start, but just couldn't wait to type this up!

Haven't been consistently oil pulling the last couple weeks because of my travels... but even with the travels... getting back into it hard core! Oil pulling RIGHT NOW as I sit at a friend's dining table! lol!

I was thinking that maybe insted of at night, add in another 20 minutes on the way home from work. It would be about a 10-15 drive depending on traffic (if I get this new job). I would keep it in a small tupperware dressing container. By then, it will have been about 4 or 5 hours since lunch and then I wouldn't have to watch the clock at night.

I feel good that I find this so easy to do!! No problems at all sticking to it

The recommended time to oil pull is in the mornings, before breakfast. I often oil pull in the evenings and rarely during the day.

I just went to the dentist for a cleaning and didn't go for 13 months and they were so impressed with my teeth, gums and hardly no plaque buildup. 0 problems. I ONLY oil pull every other day with sesame oil first thing in the morning for 15 minutes and sometimes 20. I then rinse with water and brush my teeth normal and head to work. By the time i get to work I then eat my breakfast.

I haven't tried that particular brand, but I'm sure it would be fine for oil pulling! Any organic cold-pressed coconut oil works great.
