These are the kinds of stories I LOVE to hear!!!
I just started oil pulling with coconut oil and I'm hoping to heal some tooth sensitivty and gum issues. I already notice an improvement and my teeth are looking whiter and the tooth pain has STOPPED.
Anyone else have any experiences with oil pulling to share?

qwerty988, the oil pulling should help. I just oil pull with 1 tsp and not 1 tbsp. I do have a oral-b 4000 which i believe helps a lot and floss 3 times a day. I swish with water a lot during the day as well. I also do this once a week. 1/2 tsp peroxide and 1 tsp of aluminum free baking soda. Mix all in a bowl and cover and save it. Should last a few weeks or you can just mix enough for 1 time. I use a glass straw with all my raw drinks i make in my vitamix and hardly ever drink without a straw anymore.

I also just started because of a sore gum and sensitive tooth in particular. I had always wanted to try it but just never got around to it until this pain started. The pain has gone away for the most part which is great. I have not noticed any whitening but its only been about 5 days. How long does it take to notice it? I also use coconut oil and about a teaspoon.
Raw for TODAY

Thanks for the suggestions! I also use a straw for all my smoothies and juices, but it never occurred to me my teeth were benefitting from this!
Snoops, it sounds crazy, but I swear my teeth were whiter after the first day.
It's been about a month on and off since I've been doing it. I had one VERY large filling that's fairly old and was starting to ache when I bit down on it, which really scared me as I'd never felt any sensation from it before! After just a week of oil pulling that stopped completely. Then I suddenly had pain in another tooth -- it felt like a gumline cavity and it hurt whenever I brushed. So I started oil pulling again and now within days it's already gone!!
I've decided to keep it up as a permanent part of my morning routine. My teeth aren't blindingly white yet -- but from what I've read this is achievable with oil pulling!

Hi,
I just started oil pulling today with coconut oil and I was wondering if I have to wait for a while to have breakfast...
by the way, has anyone tried swanson's coconut oil...it is roughly less than 7.00 and it says extra virgin cold pressed organic...any comments?? The price is really appealing for the product...
Also, I realized that the oil says expeller pressed, the one I used this morning...is that ok or I should get something different?

I have read that olive oil works fine, but it is recommended to use sesame oil or coconut oil...I just started and I am using coconut oil.

Hi Pamelita! As far as I know there aren't any rules about waiting to eat after oil-pulling. I only know you shouldnt eat 4 or so hours before doing it.
I've never tried Swanson's.... but I'm liking the price! As long as it's cold pressed organic I think it should be fine.

Thank you very much...It looks like the organic thing is getting more and more trendy...LOL...
Do you know anything about it helping with arthritis?? I was told that it helps with the pains.
My mother has it and I told her to do the oil pulling and she has been doing it...luckily...I am doing it just for fun, but also to prevent...
I will keep posting and take some pictures of my mouth day by day...

I will -- I've never seen that brand around here, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
There are many different conditions oil-pulling is supposed to help with but I'm not sure about arthritis. I look forward to hearing if it helps your mom!
I had several issues with my gums and teeth and I'm very hopeful the combination of a raw diet and oil-pulling is really going to cure them!
(Plus it's fun to see them get whiter )

I accidentally swallowed a little and my tummy is upset ...less than a tablespoon for me, tomorrow.
Yes someone suggested using just a teaspoon and that's what I've been using ever since -- it works really well!
I LOOOOOOVE that HAPPY CLEAN MOUTH feeling when you've just finished oil pulling!!!!!!!
