Living Light in Fort Bragg?
Has anyone been there? How is the food?

I will be going up there later this week for a few days and would like some easy meal options (going out) in addition to what I'm bringing.

Update: I did check out this place while in Ft. Bragg. In addition to it being well-known (un)cooking school to become a certified raw chef, they also have a small take-out cafe and a pretty sizable retail store.
In the store you can find just about every book published on raw/living foods, green foods, fasts, cleanses and a few general vegan books. They sell juicers, dehydrators, blenders, food processors, knives, grinders, bakeware and other raw kitchen equipment. Other items include, foods such as chocolate, olives, crackers, cookies bread, raw dried sea veggies and just about any raw goodie you can think of. They also have a few souvenir and gift items like t-shirts and other knick-knacks. Its like a Sur la Table or Williams-Sonoma for raw foodies.
The take-out cafe had pre-made food such as salads, enchiladas, sandwiches, pizza and dessert. The pizza was to die for one of the best raw pizzas I've had (while eating out), my SO loved the tuna sandwiches and the deserts was a bit too sweet, but still pretty good.
The prices were very reasonable: well under $10 for an entree and about $4-5 for dessert.
They also had a smoothie and juice bar.
The service can be a bit slow, but everyone was extremly friendly and helpful.

I know! I visited Ft. Bragg back in 2001 and there was nothing like it. Its still pretty "out there" and rural (compared to the Bay Area) and I felt strange in certain parts of the area - you know, like I REALLY don't belong there by they way certain people looked at me; but most of it was pretty cool. We like to visit the town of Mendocino; touristy but very scenically stunning.
Real estate is remarkably [extremly] cheap. You can still buy a 2 bedroom house for $200,000 and under. That would make it an idea local to start a business.

Barose: Did you go to the expo they had this weekend?

No, we couldn't make it this weekend. We went the previous weekend.

I had wanted to go all year long...then a friend decided to come visit from out of state this weekend. I had a lame time with him...I'm bummed I skipped the expo for him. But there is always next year. And hopefully I'll get up there to take a class or just visit Mendocinio before then.

I didnt find out about it until after we already made plans to go. I will try to go next year. Were you going to drive there? (not sure how else to get up there)
-
Yes, I was planning to drive. I never got to the logisitics stage since my friend book his ticket almost a month ahead of time, but I figured I would just go up and stay one night.
-
Its about a 3-4 hour drive so I would want to stay two nights.

I am making the 3.5 hr drive up the coast at the end of Oct. to begin classes at Living Light. I will soon be certified raw chef, how exciting is that? I recently got laid off my corporate cushy job of 5 years and am taking this opportunity to finally turn my passion for raw foods into a career before it is too late.
Anyone have a boarding opportunity in Fort Bragg? I need an affordable place to stay during the weekdays for about 4 weeks??
