Hello All. I'm new to the forum and fairly new to raw eating, as well. It was quite by accident that I discovered the benefits of eating raw. My 11-year-old daughter, Hunter, is a vegetarian (by choice) going on two years. In an effort to support her and out of sheer laziness because I did not feel like coming up with interesting vegetarian dishes to cook, I just started eating raw fruits and vegetables (most of the time).
It is as if my skin had traveled back in time. I don't even wear makeup anymore, and I am constantly getting comments about my skin. Also, my pants have been feeling looser and looser. (I have been struggling with my weight for five years now, and am almost 100 lbs over weight).
While I am, at this time, approximately 60 percent raw, I want to go all the way and I am currently away on a private vacation, where I have spent the past four days eating only raw fruits, vegetables and nuts that I have purchased at the local farmer's market. Additionally, I just found out that I am pregnant again, and would like to continue feeling motivated and put to rest all of the myths about how bad losing weight is for pregnant women.
I know that being as overweight as I am is far worse for an unborn baby than regular exercise and healthy, nutrient-rich raw foods.
I'm here looking for motivation and support and I hope to be able to provide the same for others who come searching.
