Hello from Peabody Massachusetts
Hello fellow raw foodies! My name is Jeannie.A series of events brought me to go raw.It all started with Kevin Trudeau's book called "Natural Cures" (they don't want you to know about)Aside from the book being a real eye opener, there was a mention of how to flatten your belly(something I have been plagued with my whole life)so I read on.He talked about liver cleanses and colon cleanses. That piqued my interest enough to research other cleanses.A friend told me about The Master Cleanse or the Lemonade Diet. After much reading,I decided to take the plunge and do a 10 day fast.No solid food for 10 days. All I can say is wow!!Not only did my belly go down significantly,I lost 10 lbs in 10 days.My energy level went through the roof,my allergies were gone, and I no longer need hormone replacement therapy for menoapuse.I knew that as soon as I started eating, the weight would probably come back,so I checked out the forum for the Master Cleanse, and all the serious fasters said that the only way to keep the weight off was to go raw.The rest, as they say, is history.Allisa's book has been my bible.I should mention that I am a terrible cook.I either under cook it or burn it,so the thought of never having to put heat to food really appealed to me.It has been a few weeks on raw food, and I must say that the weight has stayed off,I am eating alot, and my energy level has stayed high. This way of eating is custom made for me.Thanks to Alissa and all of you faw foodies that will be of help to me in the future.

Oh - and also in Beverly and great is Chianti. The owner is raw and if you call in advance (day of is fine), he'll make you a raw feast... and to top it off, the regular menu is also available - tuscan food. It's so great.

Thanks!
Wow,I haven't been on for a day,and when I do,I get all these warm well wishes. Thanks everyone.I feel like I am part of a unique club.As you all know this way of eating is not well known to most common folk.I usually keep it to myself, unless someone asks what I am doing to look so well. Most seem fascinated, but cannot grasp the concept of not cooking anything. It's amusing.
Thanks so much for recommending the restaurants.I have been to the Organic Garden in Beverly several times, and just love the food.I will try Chianti's soon.My husband has been a vegetarian for about 25 years.Haven't been able to convert him yet,but still trying.
We are members of the Boston Mycological Club, which is a club for wild mushroom hunters. We go out in the woods, and find, and identify hundreds of different varieties of mushrooms. Many edible. It's iffy to eat them raw though.
That's all for now.I'll be back soon, and oh yeah, Rawk On.
