Hello all,
I've been lurking for quite some time, very grateful for the good recipes and just to read about others taking a similar path. I've been 100% raw for 3 months excepting about 3 meals. The first time I tried it I lasted 5 weeks before I let the SAD life get in the way. It's easier this time because: it's summer and the raw foods are so good; green smoothies everyday are nutritious and filling; and the people around me are used to the idea and they just leave me alone about it! :) In addition, I have an immediate reason to stay raw in that I developed rosacea quite suddenly in March. I don't want to stay on antibiotics for long periods of time to control the proliferation of bad bacteria that causes it, and I learned from searching these posts that a raw diet may help, so here I am, and it's working.
I still need to get better at making sure I have something good and quick to eat in the fridge (something more than an avocado, which I love but am tiring of). There are a few recipes I use regularly from Raw Foods for Busy People, and I love to be inspired by RFRW. I have yet to get Alissa's book and DVD but will do so. My dh is about as far from raw as possible so much of my after work time goes toward that meal effort (I can't let him do his own meals or it would be hot dogs every day!)
I have researched Blindguru's website recently and am in the process of trying to learn more from him because his main message, maintaining the proper body ecology, seems to me to be the overriding goal I have been after my entire life. This is especially of interest to me now due to the rosacea which, in spite of considerable success at controlling it, is not 100% gone. I hope to have excellent results on these fronts to report in the near future!
That's my story in a nutshell, thanks for listening! :)
