Jack Lalane Power Juicer
So, I've had this thing in a box for more than a year now. I've wanted to use it, but I've never really been motivated to. I've heard that juicers are messy things to clean, and I wouldn't even begin to know what to do with all the leftover pulp from the fruit (it seems such a waste to just throw it away).
I do own a VitaMix, which I am absolutely in love with, so I'm not hurting for green drinks (green smoothies are my favorite, even though I don't drink them nearly as much as I should).
I guess what I'm saying is, if someone is in need of a juicer, I have one that is brand new, never been taken out of the box, that I am willing to part with (unless someone can talk me out of giving it up). I just hope I don't kick myself down the road for getting rid of a juicer that I got for free (my grandfather bought it - I have no idea why).
I think my email address is updated on my profile, so if anyone is interested please do let me know. I don't know how much this juicer goes for so I don't have an "asking price".
Thanks!!
Jen :)

Just to add to that, I have had a JLPJ for almost a year now and I really like it. It was an anniversary gift from my hubby. Yes, you have to take it apart to clean like a lot of others, but it's not that big a deal. It is strong, quiet and quick. The only thing I have ever had trouble with is the wheat grass. If I don't use enough wheat grass or compact it enough, it will kind of just shred it and toss it into the basket without any juice coming out. Other than that, no complaints here.

Juicing is great. You are giving up on something that I think that you will regret. Give it a try. I love juicing. You can do both you know; juice and smoothies!!

Hmmm...maybe I should give it a try at least once. Worst case scenario, I package it back up and give it to someone that will get more use from it.
What do you recommend I try first? I've never juiced before, so I really don't know what works and what doesn't. I do like citrus stuff, and I'm not afraid to use something green in my juice. Suggestions?
Thanks so much!! I think I just needed a kick start to use it and see if I like it or not.

there should be a fabulous recipe book with the juicer- to get started a common one would be carrot/apple (juicing the whole apple if it's small enough) add ginger or do a green juice of cucumber, parsley, and something to make it sweet- explore and have fun. u can save your pulp for your future green smoothies!!! dont give it away with out a good ole college try or tries!

Juicer
I own the Jack Lalaine Power Juicer as well and I love it. From what I understand the Vitamix is not a juicer per se and that a "juicer" processes the fruits and veggies differently if you want fruit and veggie juices. I do want a Vitamix though - but would not want to part with my juicer.

Jlpj
;) I have the JLPJ it does a great job the pulp is dry so it seems to be getting all the juice out the clean up is not that much of a chore but like someone said once you get the hang of it its a snap. Since it completly breaks down I put it all in the dishwasher except the filter which immediately after use I I rinse out and use a toothbrush from the outside as I rinse then wash. All the fibers come out in a snap no soak or stressing. Wouldn't trade mine for anything. But still would like to to try a vitamixer for some variety. :)

yea, for workout music, you basically need hard-hitting euro-dance music.... nothing else does the job really. Search around on iTunes for "euro club hits" or check this link: http://electricfilebox.com/tracks
