Thread: My Raw Boy

I have been barfing my four for quite some time - the benefits they have reaped from the diet outweighs any repulsion I may have for handling meat. They also love my green smoothies, raw apples, pears, and bananas, and dehydrated crackers/bread. ~ Cathy

Alissa, thank you for sharing.....Your baby is really lucky to have such a considerate raw vegan mommy to feed him raw meat!

My dog has been on a raw food diet for 5 years. He eats raw meat (beef and chicken), green juice and pulp (no fruit juice, except a little apple), sprouted sunflower seeds butter, sprouted almonds butter, hemp seeds butter. I found that he loves cilantro, but doesn't care for parsley, how funny! He gets just one bite of every kind of fruit we eat, but I would actually grind and chew the fruit in my month first before feeding it to him. I also feed him chicken organs once every other week. I grind the organs and brown rice together and put a little ACV in it for him. He doesn't get any "junk food", but he gets all the love and kisses from us as treat.

My dog does not smell and is very calm since day one of this raw diet. He has not been sick even once since I got him when he was 8 weeks old.

Please share your doggie recipes with us in the future.

Have any of you heard of The Honest Kitchen?

    http://www.thehonestkitchen.com/index.shtml

We just started our golden on it after finding the barf patties too expensive and gross to deal with. This new food is raw and dehydrated; you reconstitute the food with water. It looks like an oatmealy-stewish soup. The company has several different mixes including one mix without meat that you can add your own protein source to. We found a 30% off coupon online which helps keep the cost down. Anyway, our lovely beast really likes this food.
