    Default Need a little help

I would really like to eat nuts, but I dont want to go through the annoying proccess every time I want some nuts. Somone told me it was ok to sprout them once, and if they sprouted i could keep buying them and eating them...

So heres the deal, I don't know how to do any of this, and ive searched on the forums here...

I bought some sunflower seeds the other day...

all ive done is put them in water for the whole day, i notice nothing.

2 days ago, all i ate was 1 orange
1 day ago, all i ate were 2 oranges
0 days ago, all i ate where 3 oranges and a grapefruit...

I feel so dizzy and lightheaded...

keep in mind im also coming off a fast, so i cant just go and put foods right into my diet.

tomarrow im going to incorperate banana's into my diet...

anyone want to help with the sprouting thing?

what do i have to do to eat some nuts?

Soak sun flower bout 4 to 8 hours then drain them and store them in a dark place bout 75 F or lil higher is good they will grow pointy tales within 12 hours.

I store mine after the first drain and rinse in a mason jar whith cheese cloth instead of the middle part of the lid.

keep the jar at a 45 angle for draining ( just put a white clean dish towel or similar in your cabnet and lean the jar againts the back of the cabinet and close it)

if you forget about them they will grow long tails ! and taste more vegie like but great on salads.

also rinse them every 8 - 12 hours untill you fridgethem so no mildew grows

most nuts will NEVER sprout just soak them for 24 hours or less then drain rinse and firdge them these are called SOAKS but there still activated.

Im bad at typing and spelling but I hope this helps

    Default Just eat them

Yu can also just eat the nuts without soaking.
That's what I do most of the time.

And you can also redehydrate them after soaking (do big batches) and they are easier to digest (doing mine tonight)

There has been some debate here as to whether or not nuts labeled as "raw" are really raw. This is one reason to sprout them. To make sure they are in fact raw. They won't sprout if they're not. Sprouting can also bring out the live enzymes in almonds. Not sure about the other nuts. And they are very tasty if soaked and dehydrated.

That being said... Do I soak my nuts? Not usually. I usually buy them at my health food store and I trust that what is labeled as "raw" is really raw. At any rate I'm not going to stress out over it. I know some people need the assurance that every single bite that goes into their mouth is raw. I have better things to do with my time.
