Default so, you think raw isn't all that?????

I've been doing super on raw but I've felt in a slump a bit......don't know why exactly.........well, I've been eating all raw but slipped and ate a small handful of chips......I know, the horror of it all it just kind of happened without thinking. I thought.....a few chips can't hurt me. But, once I realized what I was doing and paid attention to the taste......it tasted awful. Well, within 20-30 minutes......I had the most awful stomach pains imaginable! It was like my stomach was balooning up and would soon burst! It hurt so bad...........I was up all night with the tummy ache and finally took some baking soda for the antacid effect......well, if you've ever done that the huge burps start happening. I shook the windows! (I know, that just killed your image of me but I'm revealing for a point.......) I was amazed at how such a small thing affected me so much. My system is truly sensitive and rejects the unnatural so much where once that was a regular side dish! It was a hard, painful reminder of how bad this so called "food" is for us. I will never do that again. Lesson learned.

Blimey Kristi your poor tummy, what a reaction yeah! I had the same thing with cheese, chocolate, then bread and even rice. It is great to know our bodies say NO but also I remember feeling sad as well, like the end of an era, no more of that... keeping positive is good, well done you ((( Kristi )))

    Default thanks for the imagery!

I'll be that was pretty - oh Kristi, let me learn from you so that I don't repeat unneeded lessons! Geez, I'd scare all the cats if I burped that loud ;) !!! But the body is wise - we just don't believe it. At least I didn't. I remember reading Fit for Life ages ago and thinking about some of the amazing ideas in it - like, why is taking an antacid normal? Good heavens! I used to live on Tums - had to sleep sitting up -- not anymore!!! Nope, I think now that I'm 99.9% raw (I'm still doing 10% reg. coffee) I am NOT going back. I want to be thin, beautiful, healthy, vibrant, energetic and happy - and I want nothing less!!! I refuse to go backwards - and for me only way to be is sort of self-centered - I come first. This is my life or death senario. Either I eat raw or I'll be fat and sick for the rest of my life - it's pretty simple. And I'm really, really tired of being fat and sick!!!

    Love to all,
    Melissa

    I can relate Melissa,
It has taken me a few years to realize we have all been programmed to believe eating cooked or processed food is normal and healthy! Ever culture where they have enjoyed good health and long life when our way of eating in this country was introduced to them they started having the same problems we have here.

Kristi, I am SO feeling you on this! I know exactly what you mean by doing well and then eating something crappy and feeling it...really FEELING it and in a bad way.

But, these lessons help us along to get to our goals!! Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I so know the chip rage! Grease and salt are my weakness and I've done exactly what you did - and also had terrible cramps. Spent the night thinking why? why? why? . Woke up with a very puffy face and extremly dehydrated.
Doesn't it make you wonder how your body ever coped before, when you ate them regualarly?

I haven't "slipped" and even still when I eat things like salt, my body reacts so strongly that it reminds me to be even more pure and Raw in my lifestyle and eating! The body has an amazing ability to adapt and does so and at the same time, it works both ways! I have been so careful and consistent with my body that any minor deviation from a pure whole-foods diet sends me into a reaction!

Let's all fill those emotional needs with something other than food, searching for other healthier ways to nurture, comfort and cope with our stressors... :)
