Default I'm so happy I'm raw I could...

DANCE!!! or maybe sing (better clear the house!!! ). I just have to say that being raw is the best thing I have ever done for myself in my lifetime. I am loving this and I haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet (like Alissa's recipes) but I am going in that direction. I am going to post some pictures if it's the last I do tonight - already I see a real difference in my face and hips. I've been doing some light workouts, but nothing heavy yet. But what is blowing me away is my lack of cravings for both cooked food and sugar. I'm shocked that I am not doing any of my old behavior - I used to wait until my husband would go out so I could eat all the sugary things that weren't nailed down. I'd always vounteer to go to the supermarket so that I could get my drug of choice (read: chocolate bar) and eat it before going home. The stories go on and on - but I'm not even slightly tempted to do any of that stuff now. It's like it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I am definitely in a much better mood these days and I don't seem to be getting angry as quickly as I used to in the past - I'm much calmer and happier! Ok, stop yawning! This is all so new and good, I'm thrilled to be me right now and I had to share that - I used to do nothing but hate myself, so I'm definitely going throught some super great changes.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

    Love to all,
    Melissa

    Default Hi Curtis, Hi Rawkinlocs!

I hear you Rawkinlocs - I too had some trouble starting up - but at 216lbs I was going in a very bad downward spiral if I had continued on the eating track I was on. On September 6th I declared "peace" and went 100%. I feel better and I swear I'm beginning to look better. I strongly encourage you to do as much raw as you can - hey - I need a dancin' partners!!!!

Hey Curtis - thanks for the encouragement - I'm off to work on the pics NOW!!!

    Love to all,
    Melissa

    Go Melissa!

Have you been back in a supermarket recently?

It's an odd feeling... rows and rows of packaged foods. At least 3/4 of the store is stuff you no longer will eat.

I go all the time and just cringe at the stuff. I unfortunately still purchase much because I have a husband and 2 kids that won't eat my way. They have improved but have a long way to go. I feel like a hippocrite to walk around saying "I'm Ms. Raw Food" but buying macaroni and cheese! I don't feel like I have the option.......I offer as much real as possible. I could do better if I didn't work in the evening. I end up making many casseroles and crockpot meals for them.

Welcome to raw! Remember when Gosia said she "lives in her own wonderland"? That's what it's like! I went from 205 to 175 in 5 weeks on raw (juice fasting involved though). For the first time in my life I weigh less than my driver's license says, and my driver's license was always a "wish" weight.

Drug of choice? Boy do I remember that!! Mine was donuts. When I had any stress/anxiety in my life I'd head to the grocery store and wolf down 3-4 donuts in the parking lot. I'm so glad those days are behind me.

I'm with you on the drug of choice thing.......I hated that feeling.....they secret eating because then it didn't count! I'm glad that's over for me, too!

    Default Hi Everyone!!!

I'm so grateful for everyone here - it's so nice to know I'm not alone :) I had to go to the city today - it was amazing - the colors, the sounds, the air - I swear, everything was brighter, prettier, fresher... just amazing! Yes, Lil, I'be been back to the supermarket - I remember saying, 'well, there's nothing here I want!' and off to my favorite fresh produce store, the Orange Farm Market. Kristi, I'm in the same boat with a husband and two kids who are SAD eaters. Thankfully, I've pawned their meal needs to my husband. I eat before or after they do. Sometimes on the weekend he'll join me, but not during the week.

Smasty - oh are we so similar I would do the same thing with the doughnuts! I was just horrible. I would eat until I was sick. Now I don't even want it. It was like getting through Easter - amazing the kids ever saw anything in their baskets! Yes, I am thrilled it's over too!!! So far I've lost 8 pounds - I have the next smaller size jeans out and keep trying them on - I got them zipped yesterday, but I couldn't breathe but they'll fit soon, I'm sure!

Hey Thunderdancer - I'm down to 10% regular/90% decaf!!! I haven't had a nasty migraine in three days... I'm SO happy! And thanks Marigold for your support - I am so glad we can all be here for each other... what a difference we can make in each other's lives!

    Love to all,
    Melissa
