I just got back from Florida...

and I MUST tell you all about the experience I had at Aruba's in Ft. Lauderdale! I will recommend this restaurant/bar on the beach to anyone going there!

My girlfriends and I got there for dinner (we had already had lunch there the day before) and I was prepared to have their salad w/vinegarette. It has spring mix and fresh veggi's all over it. When I ordered, I made sure to tell the waiter I was raw, etc. and he said his sister was vegetarian. We thought this was cute, my best friend with me is a vegan, just not raw. So anyway, I had said the salsa was amazing and it was too bad I wasn't eating chips, I just ate it with a spoon.

So, not 5 minutes later he comes out with my OWN bowl of fresh salsa, a bowl of romaine leaves, cut up red pepper, & shredded beets! THEN, I get my delicious salad and he not only brings me the vinegarette on the side but the WHOLE BOTTLES of olive oil and vinegar!!! I think I have finished scoring and not 5 minutes later he pops by with a bowl of seaweed! Then brought me a cut up orange for dessert. He even mentioned that the o.j. they were using in my screwdriver was fresh squeezed. We all know the vodka wasn't!

Needless to say, we not only got our picture with him, but gave him a massive tip! Wonderful food and atmosphere.

Anyway! Just wanted to post that for anyone in Ft. Lauderdale or headed that way!! It was NOT hard to be raw this weekend at the beach and it felt great! :)

Rawmommie, do you know the waiter's name? Aruba is right near me. Haven't eaten there in a long time, but would definitely go if I knew I could have a good raw experience. Definitely believe in good tipping for an excellent experience like you had. :)

My BIL lives in Ft. Lauderdale so when I get down there I will remember this place. Wow, even seaweed! Maybe, maybe you can call and describe the waiter for his name.
