I haven't seen it yet, but I'm waiting for it to come to my area. I read one of the books the movie is based upon, called "The Field." The Field is the zero point field of quantum physics, an inexhaustible sea of energy that connects everything like an invisible web.

"The field is the force, rather than germs or genes, that finally determines whether we are healthy or ill, the force which must be tapped in order to heal." from the book "The Field, The Quest for the secret force of the universe" by Lynn Taggart.

I got the DVD the other day. It is a really neat movie. Really makes you go...'hum'? My husband who is not into metaphysics or quantum physics really got his brain twisted into thoughts he's never thought before. It was fun watching him light up to the concepts. I have Dr. Emoto's book that is mentioned in the movie about "The Hidden Message in Water".

    Angie,

I have the Hidden Messages in Water book, too. I love it!! It makes me stop and think twice now about ever saying anything negative, because of how the negative words affected the water.....and our bodies are mostly water.
I didn't know the DVD is available. I'll have to order it.

Yes, I saw it when it first came out last year. (It might have been in selected release -- most films open here in the LA area). It was pretty amazing. In fact, a woman I talked to there was seeing it for the third time; she said she couldn't get it out of her mind -- and had to keep coming back and got more out of it every time.

I rate it very highly, especially for the members of this forum. It isn't a commercial-corporate-studio film by any means. Marlee Matlin does a good acting job, definitely, but since it's a sort-of documentary (one of the Spiritual Circle films like Indigo, to be more exact) where the fictional plot serves mainly as a platform for a message, it's not a slick Hollywood film. That doesn't mean anything bad -- I certainly dislike formulaic films. Again, others who are on this path like I am would definitely like it, I think.

VeganVixon, I've seen all three independent films (though I don't think Bride & Prejudice fits that description) that you mentioned, and this isn't similar to any of those. This is definitely a message/teaching film.

I took four friends and then, the next night, went back and took still another friend. I guess that tells you that I endorse it heartily.

I was brain storming about indie / foreign films (garden state was a little bit too teen for the TRULY teaching/emotional film group and is not in the metophysical genre ,but I still recomend it)

was bride and prejiduce any good? I love indian films -I loved monsoon wedding........

and I dont like to disagree but I do think that eternal sunshine of the spotless mind DID have a meaning........it was just under alot of hair dye ;)

Yeah, Bride & Prejudice was fun. Much more lightweight than Monsoon Wedding, it is 3/4 a musical, actually.

I wasn't saying that Eternal Sunshine didn't have a message; I was simply describing What the Bleep -- which is sort of a documentary with a plot line only to demonstrate the quantum physics concept. It cuts away from the "story" to experts explaining quantum physics. Thus, it has a message. Eternal Sunshine isn't like that, of course.
