    Hi,
I can always use more support. I have found that living by myself in a new town/State, not knowing anyone here much less anyone that is raw is very hard. The support I get is from e-mails. I am trying very hard to be 100%.

    Default Smasty, I'm confused!

Can't everyone view how every's 30 day challenge is going??? I would like to start but have to get dh to take a picture - I have a horrifying picture from the last day I ate cooked foods - I look like a frog !!! I am dying to delete it but I won't... it'll be a good reminder for me on where I don't want to go.

    Love to all,
    Melissa

I can't find your picture. Help. And where is Tappan, NY? We vacation every year in the 1000 Islands region.

    Hi Guys!!

Melissa...I have limited time to spend on the board right now and I just haven't spent much time in the challenge section, so rather than do my own homework I was asking for the the cheat sheet on how everyone's doing

Flutter---I'm with ya!!! I started raw after moving to Des Moines, where the the 4 major food groups are Corn, Beef, Pork and Corn. It is hard to do this with no community, which is why it's so important that we have this virtual community. We CAN give incredible amounts of support, encouragement and knowledge to each other. The only thing we can't do is have a pot luck together . It's especially hard when social hour hits, everyone is going for lunch, or dinner, with drinks, and your choices on the menu are limited to salad.

Every gain has its sacrifice though.

Every day it's important to contemplate the gains we get from this lifestyle...because the food world, in it's wicked way, wants us back (and bad!). EVERYTHING is screaming at us to eat cooked and processed food. "EAT THIS!" is screamed at us from billboards, grocery stores, TV, Radio, magazines..."and you'll be fulfilled and happy" the ads tell us. Then when you feel sick "just take this pill" they scream, and we'll feel better.

    We choose a different path.

Yes Smasty you are so right, I work in a Wal-Mart supercenter and am in the process of looking for different employment. The ad people have taken over the stores in a very bad way. From the minute you walk in they are bombarding you with advertising and sample tables on every corner. It is plain and simple brain washing and I have had enough of it.

    Default Hey everyone!!!

Kristi, Tappan, NY is in Rockland County - across the Hudson River from Westchester. I'm about 20 miles from New York City. My dh LOVES 1000 Islands - he talks about it non-stop whenever we go on vacation - usually to Belfast, Maine. He says the fishing there is amazing. I would say we live quite far from there - probably a good 5 or 6 hour drive.

I have pics to put up (the infamous "frog" picture from the NY State Fair on 9/5/04 where I'm pigging out on what turned out to be my last day of cooked food) and one from last night, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do that from my kodak application. I'll work on it today.

Hey Curtis, I hope you find something better - Wal-Mart does not have a very good reputation for being employee-friendly! I feel like a martian sometimes. But like one with the Secret to Life... if only others would listen... but the lure of cooked food is very strong - it's only when the body starts to break down that people will even consider a diet change. Pain sometimes wins over people to real change. I remember right before I found the rawfoodinfo web site praying - I asked in prayer - "what does it take to make a REAL change - a LASTING change?" I asked that question with a lot of honesty because having done every diet in the world, I was at a loss... and I really wanted to stop gaining weight. Don't you know about two days later I ran across the rawfood website - and BAM! There was the answer right in front of me!!!

Ok, I'm off to play with pictures!

    Love to all,
    Melissa
