    Default Question about posting pictures

Ok bare with me cause I am confused. To now post any kind of picture we have to have the picture on another hosting site? Is this correct. Is this just temporary or will this be how it is permanently. I thought we would be able to post our pictures of our journey like before. Has this changed? I am not as computer savvy as a lot of the folks here and right now I don't have another URL to post to. I have seen some pictures of food but they seem to be at another URL? Is this correct? The whole picture thing was the biggest motivation to me as a newbie to see other people's progress of how they changed on raw food. I also liked seeing other peoples pictures randomly pop up (will this be back). It just seems like this is a huge element missing on the site right now. Thanks for your reply in advance.

I may be wrong about this, but I think when you post your pictures, a thumbnail is posted on the thread and the original image is stored on a different server/site - but it happens automatically. You don't have to do anything different.

When operating a web site of this size, uploaded a ton of photographs can really fill up your space in a hurry. In doing this, is this is what is happening, Alissa has chosen very wisely to allow for the photographs to be hosted elsewhere, while this site goes essentially unaffected.

Again, I may be completely wrong, but in posting a few pictures myself, that's what it looks like to me.

I do hope this helps some, and does not confuse you further!

Hi Morn... I'm not sure if you're talking about in the threads, or in the blogs/journals... It sounds like you're asking about both, but both areas are being treated a little different.

In the threads, you can still attached photos like before, but they are shown as thumbnails (small version) and you click on the photo to make it bigger. If you go to the recipe photos thread, you'll see some like that. You'll also see some photos showing up bigger, which may be confusing you. This is because those people have chosen to instead of attach the photos to their post, they are linking to it from their photo hosting site. They don't need to do that, but it makes the picture show up large instead of a thumbnail. So anyway, when you post a message to the site, you'll still see a "manage attachments" option underneath the text window to add photos here and have them hosted here, with no need to belong to any photo sites.

In the blogs/journals, you can add one photo per blog post. And there isn't currently a way to add more photos with links to photo hosting sites. At least that's the way I'm understanding it right now... But I think this is being worked on to change this.

Rawfoodiemom - thanks for the information that clears up a few of my questions. I thought that maybe you had to have your own webspace to post to. I am a little technology challenged!

Thanks Admin - It sounds like you guys are still working out all of the details. Will you announce it somehow to all of us when these changes are made?
