Default need help with spouting part 2

Well, I tried spouting for the first time, but I think I messed up. I am using a wide mouth mason jar with the three colored lids. Well, Sunday I soaked them over night, but forgot to put them in a dark place. They sit on my kitchen counter. They get light during the day, but not direct sunlight. A few nights I forgot to rinse. Right now there are some green/white spouts. Then a lot of them did not expand. So, do I continue and it will take longer or give it up and try again? I am at a lost.

What are you sprouting? And do they smell funny? Rinsing is important. You are supposed to rinse two to three times a day.

Well, I'd rinse a few times daily and see what happens. Now when you rinse, just don't run water over it, really fill up the jar, then shake it. You are not going to hurt any of the seeds/sprouts. Shake, shake, shake, then spill out the water, then repeat. Give it some time. It may be okay...
    dunno
Oh - I forgot, the different colored lids are for when the seeds/sprouts start growing and you can change to a bigger size so the hulls will wash out. They don't have to be hulless, but that's what the various sized lids mean.
