    Default My Rebounder Came

    Hey Guys,

I woke up early this morning and tried out the Rebounder. It came with a bunch of workout dvds so I started out with the Intro one for 15 minutes. Boy, now I understand why the rebounder is such a good workout! It's hard to keep up that momentum for 15 minutes while concentrating on posture, balance and following moves. You feel like you are doing resistance training for 15 minutes non stop. I felt all my lower body muscles contract and some pressure all along my spine.
I wonder if the other dvds are longer than 15 minutes. That's gonna kick my ass! Oh well at least I did it all. I did not quit. Yey for me for getting up early. I plan on getting up early everyday. It's a great way to start the day. I have written it here so I better keep my word to all of you! :) This is great for accountability.

Anyone else got the Urban Rebounder or another brand? How long are your workouts? Do you follow the workouts on dvds?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours from and about how much was it? I have really been wanting one but have not decided on a brand yet! Thanks

I got it at their website - www.urbanrebounder.com. It's $120 and you get 3 workout videos/dvds. It's foldable but I have to say it is pretty big and sturdy (I did not expect it to be so heavy) and it comes with a stabilizing bar if you need one.

Also they have over 20 workouts on dvd you can purchase (besides the 3 that come with it) so it would really be hard to get bored. You can almost go a month without repeating any.
Themes include Box, Kick, Ballet, Core, Abs, Basic, Advanced, Power, Resistance, African, Latin, Hip Hop.....
Also buying one dvd is about $20 but they sell compilations that have 2-6 on one dvd and are reduced to $25 for all on one dvd. That's a good price.
Looks like most workouts are about an hour.

    Thanks Myka,

I think you just made up my mind for me. I am going to call tonight to get one. I was hoping that it would be heavy and sturdy. Did it take very long for it to arrive?

    Rebounding Benefits the Body...

Rebounding is an exercise that can reduce your body fat; firms your legs, thighs, abdomen, arms, and hips; increases your agility; improves your sense of balance; strengthens your muscles over all; provides an aerobic effect for your heart; rejuvenates your body when it's tired, and generally puts you in a state of health and fitness.

    ...in 30 Healthful ways

    1. It increases the capacity for respiration.

    2. It circulates more oxygen to the tissues.

    3. It establishes a better equilibrium between the oxygen required by the tissues and the oxygen made available.

    4. It causes muscles to perform work in moving fluids through the body to lighten the heart's load.

    5. It tends to reduce the height to which the arterial pressures rise during exertion.

    6. It lessens the time during which blood pressure remains abnormal after severe activity.

    7. It holds off the incidence of cardiovascular disease.

    8. It increases the functional activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells.

    9. It aids lymphatic circulation, as well as the flow in the veins of the circulatory system.

    10. It encourages collateral circulation.

    11. It strengthens the heart and other muscles in the body so that they work more efficiently.

    12. It allows the resting heart to beat less often.

    18. It chemically attains absolute potential of the cells.

    19. It reserves bodily strength and physical efficiency.

    20. It expands the body's capacity for fuel storage and endurance.

    21. It improves coordination through the transmission of nerve impulses and responsiveness of the muscle fibers.

    22. It affords muscular vigor from increased muscle fiber tone.

    23. It offers relief from neck and back pains, headaches, and other pain caused by lack of exercise.

    24. It enhances digestion and elimination processes.

    25. It allows for better and easier relaxation and sleep.

    26. It results in a better mental performance, with keener learning processes.

    27. It curtails fatigue and menstrual discomfort for women.

    28. It minimizes the number of colds, allergies, digestive disturbances, and abdominal problems.

    29. It tends to slow down aging.

    30. It reduces the likelihood of obesity.

You can easily perform this exercise in your living room, your office, and your yard. It's the most convenient, metabolically effective form of exercise around.

I've often thought of purchasing a rebounder myself. My question is, and it's an embarrassing one - is there a weight limit? If I were too heavy, could I break it?

    Default Weight limit

We own a Stamina Rebounder and it's wt limit is 250lbs.

    About Price -
I don't know if the way they are built are really indicative of the differance in price. Urban Rebounder is the one they use in the gyms, I can attest to the sturdiness and it costs the least of the high end types at $120. There are plenty that claim health benefits and charge $220 - $400!
