    Default Calories in flax

I was just at fitday.com looking up information on flax seeds. Now, I'm not much of a calorie counter, but I was shocked by what it states are the calories in one cup of flax seeds!! Calories 722.1 and Calories from Fat 443.53

Could that be? That many calories in only a cup of flax???
    Wow!

In flax seeds there is approx 40-60 cals per tbs. And like 2-3g of fat or something like that.
So in one cup of flax it would be over 700 calories. But many recipes make several servings, so it would be distributed throughout whatever you are making. Flax seed is good for you. :)

When I first went raw in 2005, I used to eat 2 tbsps of flax seeds in the morning as a part of breakfast. That is about 120 calories (I, too, don't count calories- this is just for info). I can't see myself eating a whole cup of them. They're just too dense.

I wonder how much you can digest if you do not grind them. Unless you chew flax very well, the majority of them seem to pass through the system completely undigested..

I'm going to check my poo to see if the crackers I made come out undigested! If so, I'll start grinding the seeds.
