Can I make my juice the night before?
I love having juice for breakfast...lots of veggies and greens. But I leave for work at 5am and my roommate's bed shares the wall with the kitchen. I doubt she would be too pleased if I made juice at 4:30 am. Thus I only drink it on the weekend. I am wondering if I can make it the night before and have it still be good the next morning? I heard it is best to drink it when it is freshly made. Thanks.

I have read also that it is best freshly made, but, that it is still very good for you later if you just store it in a jar so that it is filled to the very top, so full that when you put the lid on, a little is squished out, indicating that there is no air gap between the juice and the lid..this will minimize oxidation.
Having said that...having juice in the morning is good for you, even if it is the fresh made from the store..lol.. You are doing so great if you prepare it the night before, rather than not having it, and maybe picking up something unhealthy later....

Yes, true. I guess I overlooked the fact that maybe it might not be as good as fresh, but still is VERY good. I do have some of those jars so maybe when I make some juice to drink tonight I'll make extra for the morning and see how it goes. I just think it has to be better for me than oatmeal (raw, but still not as nutricious as juice).

No, you can not make juice the night before. It will spoil. You might be able to get away with it if there is lemon or lime juice in it, but I would recommend fresh juice only.

You can totally prepare juice the night before!! I enjoy juice fasting and will make 4 days worth of juice ahead of time.

Obviously, it would always be best to drink soon after juicing, but, let's face it, we all lead very busy lives, and sometimes all we can do is the best we can do, and it's certainly better to juice the night before for the next morning than not juicing at all (or drinking the stuff in a carton ... horrors!)l. You will lose some nutrients but not enough to cause any real harm. I've personally never read anywhere that juice would actually "spoil" if made the night before. But I stand to be corrected if the poster would site their source.
I actually juice a day or two ahead myself. I do have a masticating-type juicer, which claims to cause less nutrient loss that the centrifuge type (because of the slow rpm if memory serves), but in any case, I think you'll be fine. IMHO.

Of course, the fresher the better, but as of the quality of juice the next morning, I think this really depends on the type of juicer you have.
My Green Star uses very low speed, and introduces almost no heat - therefore the juice oxidizes much slower. The manual states that juice can be stored up to 24-48 hours, depending on the ingredients.
So, what kind of juicer do you have?

I have an Omega 8005. It's pretty new. Also I tried it the other day..made the juice at like 8pm then drank it at 6am. I put it in a jar, but I need smaller jars to fill it to the top...I made enough to fill a tall glass and it only filled the jar half way. I read online you can put it in a jar and wrap it in tin foil so no light gets in so I did that. It seemed to taste fine. But I put a clove of garlic in and that's mainly what I tasted.
