    Hi rawbellydancer,

    Yep they are seeds. I got some years ago and found them to be very pungent when sprouted. If you do sprout them you need to sprout them with milder sprouts to cut down their sharp flavor. Ann Wigmore says that they are good for cleansing the blood and kidneys and they are high in iron and phosphorus. I'm not positive but seems like I remember that they are slimy like flax when soaked.

    Hi Veganmama,

    Here are the sprouting instuctions from my book;

    Soak seeds 8 hours
    1/2 cup dry measure per 1/2 gallon sprouting jar
    1/2" to 1" length at harvest
    ready in 3 to 5 days

    pungent flavour - mix with other seeds

    can be used in casseroles, dips, dressings, salads, soups, and sprout loaves.

    enjoy :)

    Wow cool that sounds really good. I wish I knew where to get some fenugreek seeds though lol. I have been curious about mustard seeds too. Are those beneficial? Can you sprout them? I assume traditional mustard bought at the store isn't raw but I have really been craving mustard lately and want to get that mustard flavor somehow.
