    Default Southwestern V8/Soup

Wow..LivingRawgirl..that sounds like it would wake you up!!! I am so interested in hearing all of the combos. that people come up with.. I wonder if they can be correlated with specific phases of detox or conditions..as we are all moved to try to create balance through our choices and affinities...

I just made this and I like it...

    3 or 4 large carrots
    1/2-1 red pepper
    2-4 green onions
    small piece of lime
    2 plum tomatoes

I juiced them and it tastes like a yummy soup. i thought of adding salt and spices, like cumin, but thought I would not, since I am doing this to juice fast.... maybe next time I will add a little garlic in place of some of the onion....

I have a book called Juicing for Life. It has specific juices to drink to cure different ailments based on the vitamins and minerals in the ingredients. Pretty interesting.

Here is the juice I usually drink:

greens - either beet or kale or cilantro...whatever I have
    1 beet
    1 apple
    2-3 stalks celery
    a little ginger

Tonya Zavasta got me hooked on collard greens and mango. Very simple, and tastes like heaven.

    1 starfruit
    2-3 fuji apples
    1-2 celery stalks
    1/2 cucumber
    2-3 carrots
    1-2 key limes

You can do it without the starfruit, but I believe it adds a distinctive flavor to the juice.

    HAPPY JUICING!!!

    Hi!

Today I had a lucky day experimenting with my smoothies/cocktails:
    Juice of
1 complete (!) organic Lemon (not peeled)
1 complete (!) organic Orange (not peeled)
    bunch of peppermint
    bunch of parsley
    piece of ginger

    Mix it with
    1/2 Avocado
    1 banana
    optional: sprouts
    optional: soaked Nuts
water or tea, e.g licorice tea
    1 tablesp. honey

    Finished and drink.

I love the taste of lemon and peppermint. Tomorrow I'll try ice cream with lemon and peppermint and ???

    Bye,
    Andreas

So I assume then that it is perfectly fine to mix your fruit and veggie juices...I'm glad you posted this because I'm starting my very first juice feast tomorrow, I just got my juicer in the mail today. The first thing I did was make a pear juice. YUM! Is it better if I don't mix my juices at first while I detox? Will it help me to detox faster or do you think I'm good either way?

Exclamation Mixing Veggie and Fruit juices

    Hi Ruby!

I suppose you might say: it depends ;-)

Actually I try to mix veggie and fruit no longer. I read it again in the 'juicing bible'. I argues that the digestion of veggies is hindered by fruit and vice versa. And the believers of the Mazdaznan-dietrary system do believe the same. (I forgot the reasoning...)

    I'll try to mix only:
    I) veggies with a low GI, soaked nuts, oils, seeds, herbs, avocado OR
II) fruits, soaked nuts, oil, seeds, herbs, avocado, veggies with a high GI

    That's my Idea of juicing...

    Bye
    Andreas

    Default Green Hemp Milk

    Hi

For anyone who has a 'Green star' juicer or similar you may consider alternating your veggies with a few soaked seeds.

My 'Eucharist' is a Green Hemp Milk which I make by firstly putting Green Gold (powdered Hemp leaf and flowers) with some maca and laccuma into the collecting bowl mixed into a paste. I then juice loads of wild and cultivted Greens along with celery, cucumber and fennel. I alternate these with a small handfull of soaked Hemp seeds. You could also add some spicey stuff like onion, garlic, ginger or chillies if you wish. This makes a rich creamey Green milk that I have done several extended fasts on and totally loved it.

More details of how to make this juice and Hemp nutrition in general can be found on my web-site www.rawcannabis.com
