    Default Juicers

I'm looking into getting a juicer and I can't seem to decide between the Hippocrates Green Star juicer or the Champion. I am allergic to most citrus fruits so I will be using it mostly for veggies and maybe homogenizing nut milks etc. Can I get some feedback? Price is obvy an issue, but not a major one.

    Thanks!
    Peace and Blessings

    Default I love my Omega 8005 :-)

I had a champion before, but had to sell it when I moved in the summer. I recently bought an Omega 8005 and really like it. It is one of the lower rpm ones that does not aerate the juice so much, or heat it, and the juice does not oxidize as quickly and is not frothy or foamy.

It also makes nut butters, fruit ice creams..etc..has a pasta extruder attachments. i am (when I end my fast) am going to try to make sprouted grain pasta that is then dehydrated. I got a great deal on my juicer here

    http://www.2-life.com/
and free shipping from west coast to NY state..lol.. that was Very nice..

    Good luck with your decision....

I love my omega 8005. Easy to use, easy to clean and it juices leafy greens too.

    Default and wheatgrass too.....

    yes..I forgot about that...

I am going to try to grow my own wheatgrass so I can take full advantage of that feature... sure better than paying a couple or three of dollars a shot..

Hi Elizabeth / solarliving / or others with experience: about the omega-juicer I have a little question:

    * How long is it taking you to juice a reasonable amount of leafvegetables
(for example: spinach). because the opening of the juicer seems so small.

    * Is this juicer also good working for dense/thick vegetables like beet and carrot? (the juicer i now use for this has a high RPM)

    many thanks, LL ;)

I love my champion I use it about 4 times a week to make carrot juice, banana ice cream and nut pate's

I've seen the twin star, but never used it, and I've had many other juicers, but they were the Salton, centrifugal ones, I also have a citrus juicer, that I use for orange juice every day, but it was only about $13, and I had another one before that, that I gave to my son, I give him most of my old appliances, as he loves to play with them as much as I do.

but I like the champion, I think Revvell has the champion and the twin star, you may wish to ask her, since she has both, which one she likes and for what purpose.

I don't do wheatgrass, I do what Victoria Boutenko suggests for that, you put your wheat grass and some water and lemon including the peel into a Vita Mix, blend all togther, straing through a nut milk bag, and drink, no fuss no muss, easy cleanup

    I like that.

    HI Lightlover...

I have not used mine for leafy greens yet, but I know it works well for them given what I have read. It also does wheatgrass..which is harder than leafy greens. I woulod imagine that you could roll the greens up and put them in the opening...

I have made carrot juice and it works great... it was funny the first times I used it because the auger turns so slowly compared to the champion I used to have, but the juice is wonderful. I just made grapefruit juice and I loved it too...not frothy or bitter at all..

    I hope this helps...

If you have experience with the leafvegetables, I will be interested to hear

for leafy greens, I use my Vitamix. I find that I get a lot more out of it if I don't extract the green juice and leave behind the "pulp" of the greens, which has lots of benefits, too. :)

    Hi LL,

I've been using my Omega almost everyday for juicing, making nut butters and ice cream.

I usually spend half an hour juicing 32oz of leafy vegetables, that is, including washing the veg, setting up the juicer(which takes less than 30 sec), cleaning up. I would say that the 'actual' juicing part would be about 15 minutes for 32 oz.

The juicer works excellent for beets and carrots.

*** Excellent answer Linda1970; I do find it pretty quick, because 32 0z is a lot of vegetables
