Green Star peeps? I have questions.
I got a Green Star juicer for Christmas but I am having a devil of a time figuring out how to use it.
I followed the directions in the instruction booklet but there are still a lot of little parts I have no idea where they go or what they are for.
Also, so the juice comes out the bottom and the pulp comes out the front?
I am deeply confused by this juicer.
I even handed it off to my 15 year old who can typically figure out things when I can't, and she is equally baffled.
Help pleeeeeease!

OK, I think I figured it out... I think I didn't have the dealie on the very front screwed in tight enough. D'oh!
Oh well, if I have more questions, I will be back. :)

It took some getting used to but getting the parts to fit (like a puzzle) is second nature now. I really like it, just wish I could do wheatgrass juice with out all that foam. Anyone have any ideas out there?

ive seen videos on it several places . in one that juliano guy and a women show how to put it together . it may be www.greenstarjuicer.com

Mine came with a dvd too. The instruction book I must admit was truly awful. Mine came with a soft fruit screen (bigger holes) and a homogeznizing blank for nut butters etc. I also had a cleaning brush (don't use) a wood pusher (great use on those little bits of carrots) a drip tray (don't use). The main thing to remember is that the gears have dots on the ends. (one with two and the other with one) You must be sure to line up the single dot with the two dots so that the gears line up properly. You put the main shaft in place (it has the hole for the veggies) and then insert the gears. I ususally have to twist the gears a little to get them to go in place. Next place the screen over the gears and add the final piece and lock down. The funny looking piece with the sping on it is the pulp control. I usually tighten it down and then release it as I am juicing until I get the pulp to come out more. It takes a bit of practice to get the right pressure on the veggies. Don't over stuff the shoot. I put the carrots in small end first and then I use the wooden pusher at the end. Once you get the hang of it, it is great. I really like to use mine to make raw "ice cream" with frozen bananas and fruit.

Oh my gosh, thanks so much you all! That is very, very helpful. I will double check the box 'cause I didn't see a DVD, and if I can't find that I will look online.
Thanks so much for the advice, everyone - it is so very appreciated. :)
And extra special thanks, annavon, for taking the time to write all that it. It helps a LOT.
I will let you know how it goes after my second try tomorrow morning. ;-)

OK, I didn't get a DVD for whatever reason.
I am really happy with the quality of juice I get but it's REALLY, REALLY SLOW.
Is it supposed to be like that? It takes many minutes to do my juicing.
In fact, right now I am in the next room making this post while it works on a chuteful of cranberries...

Slow motion is normal and is the best for it preserves the enzyme and prevent oxidation etc....
It took me a few time to get the hang of it, now i find it very easy to use. This is very weird at first. I even found a way to clean it in no time now. I simply use a clean rag to clean the little "Net" part and it works better then with the brush. The rest, i rinse it right of way, if i have no time, i just let it soak and clean it at night. I really learned to love this juicer.
Enjoy your juice
p.s You will find that you will need to cut your food a certain way too to make it works better

Okey dokey, thank you for your reply.
I will assume everything is copacetic and bring a book with me when I make my morning juice. ;)

how are you finding your greenstar now hg?
-
Oh, Aleesha, I got into a rhythm with it and love it so much.
It takes no time at all now for me to whip up a big glass of juice.
I was just used to the crazy attack of my old centrifugal juicer so I was a bit thrown at first and it took me a while to get used to the smooth groove of my Green Star.
I love it, love it, love it - it's like a part of my body now.
Unfortunately my kids dropped it off the counter recently and I am waiting on a replacement part to see if I can get it running again!
I miss my juice!
