This was taken right off the Find an "Alissa Cohen certified Living on Live Food Teacher" in your area to the left:

This is a huge opportunity as there is the potential to derive a very large income after receiving these certifications. You may choose to take these classes for self-knowledge, to make raw food for others, teach classes or individuals and certify others. If you are going to turn this into a business for yourself you may choose to work with individuals as often as you like, It’s up to you. You are your own boss. Being part of Alissa’s team means only that you will be benefiting from Alissa’s knowledge and experience, but best of all you will be part of her infrastructure that will connect people to you through an online data base and through your own web site available to the living on live food community, provide you with copies of teaching materials, allows you to be able to buy Alissa’s products at wholesale prices to sell to your clients, and gives you the ability to be part of a community of other certified Living on Live Food people with whom you can talk with and exchange ideas with over an internet based site. Imagine…making money AND doing what you love, all while helping people and spreading the word about raw food! And all of this just because Alissa wants as many people as possible to continue to spread the word of the raw food diet through her teachings as taught through the Living on Live Food book and DVDs so that everyone can benefit form this way of life!

    Default Me too....

I'd like to hear from people who have the levels 1 and 2 too.... I've read the blurb on the website but it's always good to hear what peoples' actual experiences have been.

Anybody with levels 1&2 - what kind of things do you actually do now that you have the certification?

    Many thanks in advance :)

    Hi Mercystreet and Sweepea32,

Here is my recent post that may explain a little what I do with the certifications I received over a year ago.

Well, with my certification, I have been teaching classes here in my home and in other facilities. Just this past Tuesday I did a 1.5 hour demo - $25 per person, 12 people in attendance. The store only took $2 a head so I came away with $276 for 1.5 hours of doing something I LOVE to do as well as a feeling of fulfillment from the excitement expressed from them about raw and the way they loved the food! You can also view my website to see what I am doing: www.eatlivingfood.com

But even for the person not interested in teaching, Level One is great for learning how to make quick, simple recipes and it's just great to actually SEE someone making things in front of you and in some cases, get to try it out yourself. I've had people attend my classes who will say, "I made the Mock Salmon" or the _______ and it just didn't turn out right. Then after we make it in class, they're all like, "OMG, this is SO good...I didn't do this or that when I made it" and so they get to see any mistakes they may have made.

All of my attendees tell me it was money well spent when they take the Level One and Two from me! :)

I have taken both classes and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I haven't started teaching yet, but I plan on offering classes when I feel confident in my un-cooking abilities. In the process I am acquiring the tools I need and living the raw food life so I can better share my experience with others.

When you are on the page that klist all the instructors you ca read their "about me" details which are typically testimony's of how they came to raw and what they are doing now with the new found knowledge. Most instructors also post their schedule in the nice colorful graphic calendar associated with their page.

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

Default you don't need a cert to teach

You can still teach classes without any certifications. Do you know how to make raw food? Do you know enough nutritional info from the books you have already read? Can you answer simple questions like, "Where do you get your protein - and what about calcium?" People love to learn how to make food and they love eating it even more! And they have no problem paying for healthy yummy food. :)

Getting certs will give some people the confidence they need to teach, along with what to teach. They will also give you great ideas and handouts. This makes it simple for you.

I started teaching raw classes after reading books, making food, and came up with my own handouts and menu. I started out teaching only one person and by word of mouth only it spread faster than I thought. I could teach every weekend all day long if I had the time. Raw enthusiasm and a good demonstration of simple tasty food is 90% of it. Word of mouth will help you more than any certificate.

The point of my post is that if you want to start teaching now - just do it! The more you teach the better you will get. If getting the cert is too expensive for you right now, get the cert later if you think you need it, but start teaching now. :)

Biff, thanks for that info. I did not realize that you could just teach, however it does make sense. I have a level 1 from Alissa, but was under the impression that I couldn't teach until I had taken level 2, so I do apperciate your input. I would like to eventually take all the courses just for my own purpose, but nice to know other wise. ;)

Of course you can still teach, but that not the only reason to get certified by Alissa. She has a 'find a teacher in your area" button this site which gets over 2000 unique hits a day as well as her alissacohen.com web site which gets thousands of hits a day.

Anyone can have a web site as well but as most of you know if people are not finding it then it doesn’t do much good.

Alissa and her staff send people to all the teachers when people call or write because she is not doing personal consultations anymore, that’s why she has teachers to send people to. She is practically supplying you with an already made business and sending people right to you!

There is also tons of support for her teachers on a private forum board where they discuss teaching and classes, etc... Unlike at other schools where once you’re done with the training, you’re on your own.

so, yes, anyone can teach but not everyone has the support or access to the huge amount of advertising that she does and the association with her site, books, TV appearance, etc..
BTW- Alissacohen.com got slammed so hard after the tyra show that it shut down her site, and they were even prepared for it but I guess not for the amount of exposer they ended up getting.
So to be associated with her organization is a lot more than just having a piece of paper...

    One happy teacher

    Ugggghhhhh

Just left a "raw intro class"

taught by chiropractors that had NO answers to very basic questions

with a "friend" in the audience who came to support them, oh and by the way push that he had the only access to raw cacao nibs and gogi berries in the state plus passively handed out his gogijuice card.

The "lecture" notes were from a Dacid Wolfe book, with recipie handouts that included ingredints that the presentor weren't sure of them being raw.

This intro class was "a way to test the market and see if there was interest " so they could invite folks to there $60 juicing class where the could then make 6 juices foir you to try on their "friends" juicers yet they ADMITTEDLY didn't know why one should be juicing in the first place.

So ummmm;) I'm gonna definately be seeking out credentialed folks in the future, or even folks with a legit testimony that goes beyong saying " oh I did a challenge, but uh then I had to go to a restaurant" !

The class was free but the brain cells I had to use, to wrap my mind around what the weren't talking about, ARE PRICELE$$.
    never again!!!
