    Default Wheatgrass Tutorial?

I'm sure this is one of the most discussed topics, but I am looking to start sprouting wheatgrass for juicing. These are the things I would like to know before I spend $X.

Where's the best/cheapest place to buy seed - and what variety?
" " for soil - I would prefer something organic or at least w/o chemicals
Any other tips such as supplements for the soil
Is a masticating juicer much better or will my juiceman jr centrifugal blade juicer be fine?

    Thanks

    Talking Good Stuff Wheatgrass!

Hey Brian - here is the BEST sprouter (mho). I have two of these and love them:

I buy my red winter wheat (hard) from www.sproutpeople.com

I would suggest checking this book out from the library to learn all there is to know about wheatgrass. The Wheatgrass Book by Ann Wigmore.

    I use this hand-crank juicer.

:) I don't actually use any soil. I have these plastic containers that spinach comes in...I save them for sprouts. I was sprouting some wheat berries in one of those a couple weeks ago, and I left the house for a few days. When I came back, there was all kinds of grass! It just took off. I water and drain it once a day, but I have had thick, wonderful wheatgrass since. It gets indirect light on the kitchen counter, and it sits right next to my juicer.

    Aubrey,
Can you please describe spinach containers as ours are sold bulk or in bags? I still have that first batch of wheatberries giving me some grass, but very sporatic to cut. Thanks.
