Default Too good to be true? Cheap Nut Butter maker!

Hi everyone, after doing a lot of looking things up online I called this one website and they recommended an appliance by girmi which she says will make raw nut butters and hummus among other things. It's only a little over $50 which is the cheapest I have been able to find anywhere and I am thinking of ordering it. I asked her if the food would be heated up and she said no on that as well so I think it looks good but wanted to get some other opinions. The link to the processor can be found here http://www.juicersforless.com/produc...oducts_id/1630 Thanks!

Hmm, I am beginning to think it just might be worth it to buy it for fifty dollars and pay about the same to ship it here.... I am hoping someone will have used this or something similar and know if it works well. Has anyone used any hand grinder that will make nut butter? What about a meat grinder? I have heard they will make raw nut butters too but I have no idea if this is true......

Hey Marigold, thanks for the suggestion. I just bought a small coffee grinder and ground up some cashews. I tried mixing it with a little water and it turned out alright. Then I tried mixing it with olive oil which gave it a really good consistency but the olive taste was too overpowering for me. What kind of oil would you suggest to add when making nut butters?

So, those little coffee grinders will work? I was wondering about that. I'm not on a huge budget and my husband uses one of those for his coffee...but, I wonder...would my nut butter taste like coffee? Would his coffee taste nutty? Also wondering if I can make almond milk with my juicman jr. but very worried that I will ruin the juicer or the nuts will just get kicked around and spit out the wrong end.

You will most likely want to buy yourself a separate coffee grinder. For almond/sunflower seed/pumpkin seed milk, you only need an inexpesive blender.

    Hope this helps.

This thread got me interested in the Girmi TR30 so I did some looking around and found one "Like New" on eBay for $4.99! Shipping is $12.99 but in all that is still a deal so I snatched it up! There is another "demo" one ending soon for $9.99.

If this doesn't work well with making nut butters at least I'll have a smaller chopper to use when I don't really need all that food processor space. I'm hoping it will though, the hubby and I really love almond butter.
