Default Omega 8500 or Green Star 3000???

I am getting ready to place an order and am debating between the Omega 8005 and the Greenstar 2000 or 3000... and am trying to figure out if the extras...i.e. the magnets and the reverse and hmmm...what else is there..are worth the extra cost of the Green Star.

Any suggestions from any of you who have used both or know a lot about them would be greatly appreciated....

    Thanks so much....

Lightbulb LOL...I got the Omega 8005

Hmmm...there must not have been anyone online who was familiar with the juicers... I had to go it (kind of) alone.... which is a bit scary..since I cannot afford to make a mistake with my tightly budgeted $$$...

Anyhoo...after extensive research...and then reading someone's post about Dr. Mercola's recommendation of the Omega juicers..I went on his site and read more..and then went to the "2-life health product" website and got the Omega 8005, and an Excalibur 9 tray with 9 of the "paraflexx premium" sheets...

With the coupons and sales they offer, I got them both plus the sheets for 461.45 with free UPS ground shipping included- all the way from the West coast to NY-...yeah!!! That price is better than what they are both going for on ebay..

They should arrive next Thursday..and I am so excited to get them.

I have a week to dream of and plan for all the yummy things I will make...

Question How do you like the Omega?

    Elizabeth,

I've got the Excalibur and love it! Have you received your shipment yet? I'm in the market for a "versatile" juicer and would like to hear how you like the Omega 8005 (and the Ex!)

    Thanks,
    RC

    Hi RC!

I like it a lot. I am on a juice fast, and have been making grapefruit, pineapple, even papaya "juice" and also carrot, red pepper and it makes very tasty juice and cleans up very easily. One thing I have noticed is that my (soft fruit)juice seems to have more pulp in it than the juice from my champion had. Maybe I need to clean it mid-juicing?? I do not know. Hmmm...there is a nozzle for soft fruit which I have not used..lol..though I am not sure how that would affect it. I need to read my instructions and start using the proper attachments... ..

    hope this helps....

Red face Omega is sounding good

Thanks Elizabeth, it does help. I just posted in another thread (erroneously, I think) asking about juicers - completely forgot about this thread found yesterday! - - - more green juice, more ginseng needed - lol

The Omega sounds like what I'm looking for.

Elizabeth... I didn't see this before or I would have replied. Here's a link about juicing fruits in a slow rpm machine: http://www.discountjuicers.com/lowrpmjuicers.html

They are better for greens. Basically it says, to sum it up, if you are making multiple content juices to juice a little fruit then some greens, some fruit some greens. Also, you will need to cut up the fruit into smaller pieces. That site has some great info so browse around a bit.

    Thumbs up Omega 8006

Just wanted to thank you, Elizabeth for doing so much "leg work". I just placed an order for an Omega 8006 from 2-Life. They are having a sale and I got the Omega 8006 for $249.95 with free shipping. I should get it in 3-4 days...yeah! In the meantime, I'm using my Vitamix to make blended "juices", working my way into a full "juice feast"!

P.S. I have the Excalibur 4 tray dehydrator and love it! You were smart to get the larger dehydrator. Now I have to choose between making raw crackers and raw bread, or make half batches.

    Ama,

Wow! Just got done reading the comparison info you suggested...fantastic stuff. It really validated my choice of the Omega 8006. Thanks!
