AMAZING sprouter and gardening sustainability question
Hello, everyone! I am SO excited to find a gardening section on this fabulous site.
OK, first I just have to spread the news about the BRILLIANT sprouter I have just built. I bought the plans on the Internet from a woman who used to be an Ezygreen distributor. I was thinking about getting an Ezygreen, but thought I would need at least two of them!
Well, for the price of one, I now have a brilliant (large) sprouter that gives fresh vegies (sprouts) everyday, including wheatgrass! Anyone interested, please check out www.eatsprouts.com The plan is very well-done and it is not hard to do. I NEVER have to look at my sprouts, and everyday, a tray is ready for the eating!
Secondly, everyone's thought would be appreciated here. I live in Brisbane, Australia, in a subtropical climate i.e. mangoes, chocolate pudding fruits, bananas, etc. My husband and I have had plans for the past few years to move from our suburban block to a large property on Australia's smallest and coldest state, Tasmania, which is a very beautiful island with a lot of world heritage wilderness, no fruit fly, clean pristine water, etc. The gardening would be VERY different to what I am used to: apples, pears, cherries, stonefuit, berries, rather than avocadoes, mangoes, and bananas. We would still be able to buy subtropical fruits at the shop (for a pice!), but since reading lots of different posts where people rave on about mangosteens and durians, I am wondering if a move to Tasmania would be a backward step!!! OK, yes, so I am basing my life around raw foodism, but I like to live sustainably and I am looking for confirmation that that is still possible in a temperate climate!!!!!
Thanks so much for your thoughts.
