    Default foamy green smoothies?

I'm trying to get into the green smoothies, and while I like the ones I've made so far (not really following a recipe, just "winging" it depending on what greens/fruits I have on hand at the moment), but not loving the deep layer of "foam" on top. Am I doing something wrong? Are they supposed to be foamy or does it depend on ingredients or what? Sorry for my dumbness

Mine are always a little foamy on top, which I'm not crazy about either. But if I drink it right after I've blended it or put it in a nalgene and shake it, I can usually avoid the foamy top layer (the rest of it just gets thicker). Do you use a lot of bananas? I wonder if it comes from that.

Right now I'm using a Braun (sic) PowerMax. Just bought an Omega and an Excalibur, so a hot-diggity-dog blender will have to wait. I generally use just one banana, orange and/or pineapple juice, and whatever greens are on hand, either spinach, kale, romaine or some combination thereof. I think I saw some mention of "straining" elsewhere in the forum. Maybe that's what I'm missing, didn't occur to me to strain the darn things!

    Talking mmmm! Foamy!!!!

My GS's are always foamy. I just let it settle for a few minutes, then shake them. They mix after a few minutes. I too drink them out of a Naglene container. A charcoal gray one. Folks don't see the (icky to THEM) color green.
I call 'em my Shrek Shakes!
    I love those GS's!!!!
