I just got my Omega 8005!!!
I was soooooo excited! I washed everything up, and used it. I noticed at first, and was worried about the smaller chute, but alittle more chopping was NOT a big deal (you have to chop things first, so a couple of more chops is no problem)
When I started juicing, I was thinking, "How is this going to JUICE, it only has that "round" thing??" BUT it juiced BEAUTIFULLY!!! I love, love, LOVE how quiet it is...and how dry the pulp is, and how "clean" the juice is (my old juicer left alot of foam!)
So far, I LOVE IT It was also VERY easy to clean!! I can't wait to make nut butter with it!!
Thanks everyone who helped me make my decision!! I know there were lots of you who helped, I can't remember your names....but THANK YOU!!

i bought a hamilton beach wide mouth juicer about 3 days ago. Its cheap but right now it is helping me to eat better.

Good for you abetterlife!! I had my little juiceman jr. for about 2 years...still working, I just wanted something "better". I love to juice, and would have juice everyday.....I think it is wise to buy a cheaper juicer at first, to see if you can justify the $$$ spent on another more pricey one! Good luck.

Oh yeah, I also wanted a juicer that would do nut butters and "food process"!! This was a major deal to me also, because I will not buy store bought nut butters, and have to make my own using a coffee mill, and I knew that a better juicer would make nut butter also!!

Have you made any nut butters yet with it? I'm curious how it does with that, also how it does with making ice cream (I think it does that right?), thanks, Alanna

learningrawways: I HAVE made banana/cherry icecream with it. I made it the first time using the rest of the banana I had frozen. I was nervous because non-raw DH was watching. It came out sooooo soooo smooth....and at just a fraction of the time it takes me to do ice cream in a FP!! This machine is SOOO quiet, and quick. I recommend it HIGHLY! I can't wait for my next batch of bananas to ripen, so I can freeze them and have more ice cream. It was much creamier than FP ice cream. DH said it was "REALLY GOOD!"
I haven't had a chance to make nut butter out of it yet.....I have to buy some almonds to soak, dehydrate, and then make into butter. I am certain my Omega will do a FINE job though!!
Happy juicing!

Thanks for replying Wendi, it sounds wonderful for making ice cream. Let me know when you make nut butter too ok? I'm just curious about it and am saving up for another juicer. I have the Breville and it works great but can't make ice cream or nut butters. I always heard good things about the Omega juicer. And glad you're enjoying yours. Alanna

Congratulations on having your Omega! I really love it too. I also just recently made the ice cream and just can't believe how quick & easy it is. It takes a fraction of the time spent when using FP. It's really worth $200. My cashew butter came out perfectly, in less than 1 minute.

YUUMMMM...cashew butter...can't wait to make it! It's my favorite (I used to make it with a coffee grinder) I love cashew butter on a sliced apple. (That's me, licking my lips!)

Congrats TVillemom
Congrats on your purchase, TVillemom! I love, love, love my Omega 8500
I've done ice cream in it alot, but not nut butters.... do you have to dehydrate the almonds/cashews? and if so, why? you can't just soak them and run them thru the juicer?
Linda, do you dehydrate your cashews? Just curious....
I love how easy it is to clean, too..... a great juicer, HIGHLY recommended!!!
Have fun juicing!!!

I just got my Omega today; it's the 8003. I couldn't wait to do some carrot/ apple/celery juice. Can I just say ..... WOW! I thought my centrifuge juice made some pretty good juice (though the cleanup was a drag, which kept me from juicing as much as I really wanted to), but there's just no comparison. I can hardly wait to try the nut butter and "ice cream" and other stuff this puppy is supposed to do!
Got my Excaliber today also! So many toys to play with, so little time! My first dehydrator experiment will be the kale chips someone suggested to help with my Lays craving.
Later gators!
